JAMBOREE 2024, 21 AUGUST 2024

DPS Sec-122, Noida participated in a cultural competition “JAMBOREE 2024”, organized by PACIFIC WORLD SCHOOL, Greater Noida on 21st August, 2024.It provided a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyze and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. There were array of activities in each category of art, music, dance, rhyme and so on . The students showcased their talents with full zeal and enthusiasm. Overall it was a good learning experience for the students.

RAKSHABANDHAN, 16 AUGUST 2024

'Raksha Bandhan' or 'Rakhi' is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between siblings which is one of the deepest bond of all human emotions. All the students of class Nursery celebrated the festival of love, Rakshabandhan on 16 August’24 with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students coloured the cutout of butterfly rakhi and decorated it with stars and sequins. Students were also explained about the importance of this festival through ppt and video. Students tied rakhi on each other's wrist and enjoyed sweets. They all were very excited to get their pictures clicked after tying rakhi. Towards the end students also recited “rakhi rhyme” with the teacher and enjoyed the day to the fullest.

RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATION, 16 AUGUST 2024

The students of Prep celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan on 16th August' 24 to highlight the bond between siblings. The celebration began with a brief introduction to the significance of the festival. Teachers explained the importance of the festival and how it symbolizes the bond of love, care, and responsibility between siblings. The students coloured the page depicting Rakhi celebration in their ASM. They filled the picture with vibrant colours.
Each student was provided with a teddy bear cutout, colorful threads, sequins, and other decorative materials. The excitement was palpable as the students eagerly set to work, using their creativity and imagination to design their teddy bear rakhis. The classroom was abuzz with joy and laughter as the students proudly showcased their handmade rakhis to their peers and teachers. The teddy bear rakhis, each reflecting the personal touch and creativity of the children, were a true testament to their artistic skills.
Overall, the celebration helped students understand the deeper meaning of the festival.

‘The love between a brother and a sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions’
Raksha Bandhan celebrates the purity and sanctity of the bond that exists between brothers and sisters. To commemorate this festival, a rakhi making activity was organised for class 1 students on 16th August 2024. Students made beautiful rakhis with colourful paper, stamps and glitter. Children thoroughly enjoyed this activity that tickled their creative side. Children watched a PPT and had a discussion about the significance of this festival. They also tied a sacred thread on their teacher’s wrist and gave her sweets as a token of love. It was delightful to see the enthusiasm of all students.

Rakshabandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the pious bond between the brother and sister which depicts human emotions in the purest form.
To commemorate this festival rakhi making activity was held in the class where the tiny tots of Pre-Nursery used glitter, wool, colourful paper to make a beautiful rakhi.
Rakhi celebration was done in the class where children tied rakhi , shared sweets with each other. The values and sentiments attached to the ritual of this festival were explained to the children that how we should support and protect each other in all the ups and downs of life. A video was also shown adding to the significance of the festival. Overall the children enjoyed the day to the fullest and made many memories.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION, 8-14 AUGUST 2024

The students of Prep celebrated Independence Day with a week of thoughtfully curated activities, each designed to impart valuable lessons about patriotism, national pride, and cultural heritage. Here's a detailed report on the activities and their significance.
Day 1:A foundation of the week-long celebration was laid by explaining the students about historical significance of Independence Day and introducing the concept of freedom. Following the presentation, students engaged in an art activity where they created kites using ear bud printing. The kite, a symbol of freedom and aspiration, was chosen to reinforce the day’s theme. This hands-on activity allowed students to express their creativity while symbolizing the spirit of Independence.
Day 2: On the second day, students learned about the meaning and significance of the colours of the Indian National Flag—saffron, white, and green, along with the Ashoka Chakra. This activity was essential in teaching them the values each colour represents. The students then applied their knowledge by drawing and colouring the National Flag in their Art Files. This activity not only reinforced their learning but also allowed them to express their patriotism through art.
Day 3: The third day featured the Little Chef Competition, where students brought ingredients from home to create tricolour-themed dishes. This activity was important for fostering creativity, teamwork, and an understanding of the significance of the tricolour. It also allowed students to explore the culinary arts in a fun and meaningful way. A detailed discussion on the importance of national symbols followed the competition. Students learned about symbols such as the National Emblem, the Lotus, and the Tiger, and their significance in representing the nation’s identity. They then coloured these symbols in their Art Files, reinforcing their learning.
Day 4: On the fourth day, the students learned about great Indian leaders through an Assembly. This was followed by a craft activity where the children made tricolour stick toppers. This takeaway craft was not only a fun activity but also a symbolic representation of the Indian flag, allowing students to take home a piece of their patriotic experience.
Day 5: The final day was a celebration of India’s rich cultural diversity. Students came dressed in traditional attire—Kurta Pyjama in tricolour—and brought sweets and tricolour-themed food. This activity was important for fostering a sense of unity in diversity, as students shared their food and appreciated each other’s traditional attire, rounding off the week’s celebrations with a festive spirit.
Each activity throughout the week was carefully designed to educate, engage, and inspire the students, leaving them with lasting memories and a deeper understanding of the significance of Independence Day.

INDEPENDENCE WEEK CELEBRATION, 8-14 AUGUST 2024

The 78th Independence week was celebrated with utmost grandeur, zeal and patriotic fervour by the tiny tots of Nursery. The School premise was beautifully decorated with tricolour ribbons and the artistic work of the students. A gamut of celebration activities were held over the week from 08.08.24 to 14.08.24.
Teachers discussed about the National Festival, its importance and significance in the lives of Indians, about National symbols and the theme of the Independence Day 2024, “Viksit Bharat”. Students also watched a PPT on the story behind the struggle of India’s Independence. Students did finger printing with tri-colour on a picture of balloon and also made beautiful Tri colour caps by doing ear bud printing in it. Students also enthusiastically coloured in national symbols in their Art ASM. ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ recitation competition was conducted for students on 12th August 2024. The students actively participated in the competition as they got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence in front of their peers. Children came dressed up in tricolour traditional attire and bought different food items in the colour of our flag. This week was full of patriotism and enthusiasm that kindled a sense of love for our country within the children.

INDEPENDENCE WEEK CELEBRATION, 8-14 AUGUST 2024

The 78th Independence week was celebrated with great patriotic zeal by the students of Pre nursery. An array of activities were conducted throughout the week from 08.8.24-14. 8.24 .
The tiny tots of Pre nursery created a poster of national symbols with the help of palm impression, finger printing , sponge dabbing an .This activity gave them hand on experience, while the significance of each symbol was explained by the teacher.
The story of India's independence was shared with the students to cultivate the love for their motherland from an early age. On August 12th, 2024, a ‘Bharat Salam’ recitation competition was held, where the children participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their talents and confidence in front of their peers.
As part of the celebrations, the students created tricoloured kite badges using earbud printing, which were given to them as keepsakes. They also crafted tricoloured hanging bouquets with pom-pom balls, further immersing the school in the colours of patriotism.
Adding to the festive spirit, the children came dressed in traditional attire representing the tricolours of the Indian flag and brought food items in the colours of the flag. This week-long celebration, filled with patriotism and enthusiasm, kindled a deep sense of love for the country within the children, making it a memorable and enriching experience for all.

“ONE NATION, ONE PEOPLE, ONE CONSTITUTION”, 12 AUGUST 2024

To inculcate the feeling of patriotism a role play competition was conducted by Class II on 12.8.24. Children came dressed as their favorite freedom fighter and enacted few line about the same. This event helped the children in understanding the sacrifice made by our freedom fighters in making Indian a sovereign, democratic, republic and secular country.

LITTLE CHEF COMPETITION, 12 AUGUST 2024

In line with the celebration of Independence Day, the Little Chef Competition was organized, where the students of Prep showcased their culinary creativity and patriotic spirit. The students brought various ingredients from home and with enthusiasm, crafted a variety of tricolour-themed dishes.
Among the delightful creations were tricolour sandwiches, where layers of vegetables represented the saffron, white, and green of our national flag. Some students made refreshing tricolour popsicles, combining flavours in the same tricolour pattern. Additionally, others presented a healthy tricolour fruit salad, artfully arranging fruits in a way that mirrored the flag’s colours, and many more beautiful and creative treats were prepared.
Each dish was not only a treat for the taste buds but also a visual feast, beautifully presented with attention to detail. The event was a wonderful way for the students to engage with the significance of Independence Day while enjoying the process of making and sharing food. Top three dishes were selected from each section based on creativity, presentation, and adherence to the tricolour theme.

MILE SUR MERA TUMHARA - HINDI PATRIOTIC RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION , 12 AUGUST 2024

Poetry is beautiful through its expressions, rhyme and rhythm. Rhymes are an integral part of Nursery education, as they help children to enhance their musical and aesthetic awareness. To instill a love for poetry and to develop oratory skills amongst our little ones, Delhi Public School Sector 122 Noida organized an intra-class Rhyme Recitation Competition on August 12, 2024. This competition served as a significant platform for the students to gain invaluable stage experience and boost their confidence. The tiny tots of Nursery came up with a variety of Patriotic rhymes and recited them with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event, aimed to celebrate national pride and unity through the expressive medium of rhyme and poetry. All the students showcased their talents, embodying the spirit of patriotism and national heritage. The primary objective of the competition was to encourage participants to engage with their national identity and history through creative expression.
All the students were thrilled to recite their rhymes and also used various props to enhance their performance. To keep the spirit of Independence Day and the glory of the Tricolour alive, a tricolour food making competition was organized for the students of class 1 on 12th August 2024. The air was filled with enthusiasm for the kids as they donned their chef caps to exhibit their culinary skills. The students made different food items with a variety of ingredients like breads, raw vegetables and sauces of different kinds. The competition was a great success and gave a platform to students to exhibit their culinary talents. The judgment was done on the basis of creativity and overall presentation.

BLAZE OF COLOURS COLOURING COMPETITION, 31 JULY 2024

“Colours are brighter when the mind is open”.
We celebrate every moment of our life with vibrant colours of nature. They are the source of joy and happiness for everyone. Keeping this in mind, Delhi Public School, sector 122 Noida organized a colouring competition – Blaze of colours for class Nursery. The little artists participated in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm and at the same time took great care to colour their masterpieces with their creativity. The students coloured beautifully in the picture given to them and exhibited their skills by filling colours in it. The fun they had is certainly going to add a new innings to their colourful childhood memories.

INTEGRATED PROJECT- FOOD WE EAT, 23-30 JULY 2024

In an increasingly globalized world, understanding the food we eat encompasses more than just nutritional content. It involves exploring various dimensions including agriculture, economics, culture, health, and sustainability. This integrated project aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the food we eat, examining its journey from farm to table, its impact on our health, and its broader implications for society and the environment.
India being a vast country different kinds of food are eaten in different states. Each food has its own special ingredients and is full of flavour.
To inculcate the knowledge about the food and its types class II had their integrated project-Food We Eat from 23.7.24-30.7.24 in which children were explained in detail about the types of food, its importance with the help of different worksheets and activities. On the day of presentation they got food of the regions allotted to their class and set up a small food stall for the same. The project enhanced their knowledge about food and its kinds and the importance to eat healthy food.

INTEGRATED PROJECT, 23-26 JULY 2024

First term integrated project on the topic ‘My School’ started on 23rd July 2024 and was completed on 26th July 2024. The project was done in a scrapbook which was beautifully decorated by the students according to the theme of the project. We covered the topic extensively through English, Hindi, EVS and Math worksheets and activities. On the first day, students thoroughly enjoyed the school tour where they explored different areas of the school such as the classroom, amphitheatre, music room, reception, etc. They also filled a questionnaire based on their tour, solved a few riddles, drew and coloured a picture of their school's building. On the second day of the project, children learnt about good and bad classroom behaviour. Children enjoyed writing the class rules on the paper cut out of their hand. On the third day, we talked about the various activities that children enjoy at school. The students revised hindi matras through related worksheets. On the fourth day, the students revised number concepts through Math worksheets based on the theme ‘My School’. The integration of art and craft activities were done to teach language and number concepts. The presentation for the same was held on 29th July where the children showcased their learning from the project. The little ones used props to make their presentation interesting.

BITS OF PAPER’ TEARING AND PASTING COMPETITION, 26 JULY 2024

On 26 July, 2024, DPS Sec 122, organized a "Tear and Paste Bits of Paper" competition for the students of Prep. This creative and engaging activity aimed to enhance the fine motor skills, creativity, and patience of our young learners. Children were introduced with practice session of tearing and pasting a few days before the event, so they get an idea of how to tear a paper and paste in a defined shape. Using newspaper and old magazine pages promoted environmental consciousness by recycling materials.
The competition began with a lot of excitement as the children gathered in their classrooms, eager to showcase their artistic abilities. The activity was divided into three stages: tearing, arranging, and pasting. Children’s work was assessed on the creativity, neatness, and overall effort. Each child’s artwork was unique and reflected their individual creativity.

A VIBRANT SPECTRUM- COLOURING COMPETITION , 26 JULY 2024

We at DPS 122 NOIDA believe that every child or person has an ocean of inner strengths. The proportion of these strengths varies from person to person. But the only need is to develop these strengths. It is necessary that proper environment, guidance, and encouragement should be provided as required. If a child gets all these in correct proportion then his/her hidden talents develop.
Colouring Competition was conducted in Pre-Nursery on 26.7.2024. Students brought in their colourful imagination while colouring the picture. Children participated with zeal and showed their talent. It helped them in exploring new ideas, creativity as well as a sense of colours. They were judged on the parameters like strokes of colouring, neatness and choice of colours .

Healthy Food Week was an exciting and educational event designed for the students of Prep. Held over five days, the week was filled with engaging activities that promoted the importance of healthy eating habits. Each day focussed on a different aspect of nutrition, providing a comprehensive and enjoyable learning experience. The activities provided students with a foundational understanding of nutrition and the benefits of healthy eating. This knowledge is essential for making informed food choices.
Daily Activities
Day 1: Chef Cap Making Students began the week by crafting their own chef caps. This creative activity was a fun way to introduce the concept of cooking and healthy eating, as students personalized their caps by making fruits, vegetables and writing their own names. Importance of wearing chef cap and who wear it was also explained to them. A feeling of excitement was filled among the students about the forthcoming activities.
Day 2: Fruit Bowl Creation The second day was dedicated to fruits. Students brought a variety of fresh fruits and with the help of their teachers created colourful fruit bowls. This hands-on activity not only encouraged the consumption of fruits but also taught students about the different types and benefits of various fruits.
Day 3: Dairy Party On the third day, the focus was on dairy products. Students learned about the nutritional value of dairy and enjoyed a variety of dairy treats such as curd, cottage cheese, and buttermilk. They also learned about setting the curd at homes and brought the curd to school and shared their experience with all. This day highlighted how dairy can be a delicious and important part of a balanced diet.
Day 4: Healthy and Junk Food Collage Day four involved a visual and educational activity where the students created collages to differentiate between healthy and junk food. By sorting pictures from magazines and newspaper into two categories, students gained a better understanding of which foods are beneficial and which should be consumed in moderation.
Day 5: Healthy Sandwich Making The final day allowed students to apply their knowledge by making healthy sandwiches. Students were asked to bring ingredients like multigrain bread, tomatoes and cucumber, grated or sliced cheese and few more healthy options of their own choices. They selected from a range of nutritious ingredients and assembled their own sandwiches. The creative and interactive nature of the activity kept students engaged and made learning about nutrition fun. This approach helps in retaining their interest and understanding the importance of including vegetables, fats and whole grains in their diet while preparing a meal for themselves. Healthy Food Week was a resounding success, providing valuable lessons in nutrition and healthy living while ensuring that students had fun throughout the process. This initiative has set the groundwork for a healthier future for our Prep students.

POET PARADIGM-ENGLISH RECITATION COMPETITION, 22 JULY 2024

Poet Paradigm, an English Recitation Competition was organized for the students of class II on 22 July 2024. The aim of the activity was to enhance students' confidence, improve their pronunciation, and encourage a love for poetry.
The children recited poems with immense enthusiasm and confidence supported by colourful and vibrant props. They captivated the audience with their voice modulation, articulation, and dramatic appropriateness.
Students were judged on their clarity of speech, expression, and memorization. While all students performed admirably, a few stood out due to their exceptional expression and confidence. The recitation was followed by a round of applause from classmates and words of encouragement from the teacher.

BAAL GEET COMPETITION, 22 JULY 2024

Keeping this in mind, Baalgeet competition was conducted for class 1 on 22 July 2024. The competition inspired the young poets to come forward and perform. The students came up with different poems. Some of them were dressed up as characters and recited the poems with the use of facial expressions and voice modulation. Children also used a variety of props to make their poem interesting and expressive. The children enthusiastically participated in the competition as they got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. They were judged on the parameters like expression, voice modulation, content and overall presentation. .

COLOUR WEEK , 04 JULY 2024

The Colour Week celebration for the little ones of Nursery was a vibrant and engaging event that aimed at introducing young learners to the wonderful world of colours. Students participated in a variety of colourful activities, games, and crafts, enhancing their understanding of different hues and shades while promoting creativity and sensory exploration. The Colours Week commenced from 23 April 2024 with great zeal and continued till 2 May 2024. Each day of the Colour Week was dedicated to a specific colour theme, allowing students to focus on one colour at a time. Students dressed up in clothes of the designated colour for each day of the week, adding to the festive atmosphere to the celebration. Nursery students participated in various art and craft activities that centered on each colour theme. Through a variety of hands-on activities and interactive experiences, students developed their colour recognition skills, creativity, and love for learning. By immersing themselves in a world of colours, students gained a deeper appreciation for the beauty and diversity of the world around them, laying the foundation for future learning and exploration. Students also recited a rhyme on colours and enjoyed it. A cut out of the colour crayon was also given on each colour day as a token.
The colour week celebration came to its conclusion with a fun loving activity in which students created a new colour by mixing two primary colours. This hands on activity reinforced the concept very successfully and also helped in confidence building in each child.

MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION, 14 MAY 2024

"All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother." —Abraham Lincoln
The Mother's Day celebration at DPS Sec 122, Noida, was a touching and memorable event that celebrated the irreplaceable role of mothers in our lives. The event aimed to show appreciation for the love, care, and support that mothers provide, while also giving students an opportunity to express their gratitude creatively.
The little ones of Prep crafted a beautiful Mother’s Day card, decorating it with kite paper balls, glitter and sequins. They also wrote a heartfelt message for their mother.
To express gratitude and love towards their mothers, students of class I coloured a related picture in their ASM. Heart-warming feelings filled the air with love, gratitude, and acknowledgement. They lovingly embraced their teachers and wished them on this day. Teachers also discussed the importance of mothers and her role in shaping our lives. Students also shared how they are grateful to all the things that their mothers do for them.
Students of class II expressed their love and gratitude towards their mother by making and decorating paper ice- cream cones, where in they wrote a few describing words for their mother.
The activities not only allowed children to express their love and appreciation but also strengthened the bond between mothers and their children.

MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION, 14 MAY 2024

Mother’s Day is a celebration to honour the special bond between a child and the mother. Delhi Public School, Sec 122 Noida organized a Mother’s day event for all the super moms of Pre Nursery and Nursery on 14 May 2024. To show love and gratitude for their mothers, the young, enthusiastic and adorable tiny tots celebrated this most special day with lots of fun activities. On this special day, the mothers stepped into the classrooms with their little ones and experienced the wonderful activities organized by the teachers. The little ones recited rhymes and performed a well-choreographed dance with their mothers.  Their eyes sparkled with joy when they participated in various activities like fireless cooking, talent show and passing the parcel game. The energizing dance and music sessions pepped up the fun further. We were delighted to see this beautiful bond of mo ther and child. Both of them tapping their feet and nodding their head to the beat of the music. Thereafter, mother and the child had a splendid time making various delicious food items like cake, pani puri, sandwiches, cutlets, cookies, summer refreshing lemon drinks and so on. Mothers also wore a beautiful Tiara made by their ward and received a beautiful card and bouquet from their children. The mothers made beautiful memories to cherish for a lifetime.

PLANET PROTECTORS

On the occasion of World Earth Day, ‘Planet Protectors’, a colouring competition was organized for class 1 on 22nd April 2024. The competition was exciting and the little hands at work had put in their best efforts. A worksheet with a picture of our mother Earth was given tot children. Children showed a lot of interest and patience and put in their best effort to colour the picture within the boundary, using strokes in one direction and neatly filling the entire picture without leaving any white spaces. The judgement was done on the basis of neatness and overall presentation.

ECO WONDERS COLOURING

The students of Prep participated in a vibrant and engaging colouring competition to celebrate the Earth Day.
The event aimed to develop love for art and enhancing their fine motor skills along with raising awareness about the importance of protecting our planet. The young learners showcased their creativity and artistic skills by colouring excellently and with utmost neatness.
The Earth Day Colouring Competition not only encouraged creativity but also fostered awareness about the importance of celebrating the World Earth Day from a young age. RECYCLE AND REIMAGINE

"Recycling things is like magic that turns ordinary things into extraordinary."
The three 'Rs' stand for: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. They are a part of the waste hierarchy which is used to protect the environment and conserve resources through a priority approach. The Best out of Waste simply means to make or to create innovative and attractive things from the material we do not use anymore. In an initiative to generate the habit of using old things to create beautiful crafts among children, 'Recycle and reimagine Competition’ (Best Out of Waste) was recently organized for Class II, students displayed their creative art and craft ideas by making: a paper vase, wall hangings, Utility box, toys, paper jewellery and many more. The creativity displayed by the children was mesmerizing. The competition promoted artistic fervour in our leaders of tomorrow.

CREATIVITY AT ITS BEST (BOOKMARK MAKING COMPETITION)

To give wings to the imagination of students, a bookmark decoration competition was organized for Nursery on 8 March,2024. This fun-filled activity unleashed their creativity and helped them foster their artistic skills. Students worked enthusiastically and experimented with different shades of colours, decorated the bookmark with sequins, stars, stickers, shells, buttons, flowers and glitter to flaunt their innovation. Students were very happy to showcase their colourful bookmarks and they thoroughly enjoyed making it. They were also appraised about the use of book mark and how they can use the same while reading books. This was a juncture for them to display their talent and creativity.
The book mark making activity aimed to enhance their creativity and aesthetic sense. Moreover, in a fun way students will also get into the habit of reading books. It was an exciting individual activity for the students.

Competitions are a great way to boost confidence and stimulate holistic learning of students. To instill the value and importance of cleanliness in one’s life and to make the students aware of the culinary skills and etiquette, a table mat making competition was organized for the students of Prep on March 11 2024. The students designed their own mats and decorated them beautifully. They enjoyed making the mats as this was a great learning experience for them. To inculcate the knowledge of basic mannerism to be followed on the table, class II found a creative way to do so. A glam the table competition was organized wherein the children made their own customized table mats which they could use later. Children used different decorative materials like fabrics, disposable plates, forks, spoons, tissue etc to make their mats as unique as possible. Delhi Public School, Sector – 122, Noida organized Inter class Mathematics Quiz for Class II, on Thursday, 29th February 2024 to enhance observation and analytical skills of students. Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations or algorithms is about understanding. The competition helped the students to think from a different perspective. The students came dressed up as various community helpers and spoke a few lines about them. The objective behind keeping this competition was to bring a sense of reverence and acknowledge the dignity of labour. The students came dressed up in the costumes and carried various props related to their character and spoke confidently. RHYME-O- REASON RECITATION COMPETITION, 23 FEBRUARY, 2024

Recitation activities help students to build confidence as they learn to speak more accurately and persuasively about any piece of writing. Keeping this in mind, English Recitation Competition was organized for the tiny tots of class Nursery on the topic of ‘Save Environment’. The young poets enthralled their classmates with their articulation and memory skills while reciting poems. It was a splendid opportunity for them to gain self-confidence. Many children recited poems on some burning issues such as pollution and save trees. A significant message was spread through their poems that it is essential to save environment as we totally rely on it for food, water and air. Students brought various props related to environment to enhance their recitation skill. It gave them a platform to express their ideas and organize their thoughts in front of the class.

FIRST IN-HOUSE SPORTS DAY ‘JUNGLE JAMBOREE’, 27 FEBRUARY, 2024

“Champions are not the ones who always win races- champions are the ones who get out there and try.”
On Tuesday, 27 Feb 2024, DPS Sec 122 Noida, hosted the much awaited First In-House Sports Day ‘Jungle Jamboree’ for Nursery to Class III with great excitement and enthusiasm. The entire ground was adorned with lush green, life- sized animal cut-outs and jungle themed decorations, creating an immersive and enchanting atmosphere for the young participants.
Principal, Ms. Vibha Singh, declared the sports meet open by releasing the bunch of colourful balloons in the air. She then administered the oath to all the participants to foster the sense of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The event commenced with the mesmerizing opening dance by the students of Classes II and III that set the tone for the day’s festivities. The well synchronized choreography captivated the audience and ignited the spirit of adventure. It was followed by the skaters from Nur to Class III who took the centre stage showcasing their speed, agility and grace. The skaters gracefully glided and demonstrated their prowess as they navigated through the twists and turns of the course.
Some fun races such as, Honey Bee race, Caterpillar to Butterfly race, Bunny race, Hungry Monkey and Mowgli goes to School race were organized, each inspired by the elements of jungle theme. The young performers participated in high- energy Zumba, Aerobics, Pom Pom and PT Drills that exhibited their strength, flexibility and coordination. The harmonised movements and spirited performances reflected the dedication and teamwork of the students.
At the conclusion of the event, winners of the races were awarded with the certificate of excellence by the honourable Principal. On this occasion, she appreciated the joy and efforts demonstrated by the students and elaborated upon the importance of sports in the lives of students as they embark on their path to holistic development.
The Jungle Jamboree was the resounding success, bringing together students and teachers in a collaboration of fun, fitness and friendship. Through the immersive jungle experience, the children not only had a lot of fun but also learned valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance and wonders of nature. It was indeed a memorable and enriching experience for our young adventurers.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION, 24 - 25 JANUARY, 2024

The 75th Republic Day was celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm by the Pre- primary students. The school campus was exquisitely decorated with tri- coloured flags, kites and doves. In a build up to the celebration, a week long activities were planned for the students to connect to the essence of Republic Day through variety of experiences. Power point presentations on significance of Republic Day and Beating the Retreat were shown in all the classes to reiterate the importance of the national festival. The students were also sensitised about the National Bravery Award which is given to children from all over India for their meritorious acts of bravery. Teachers discussed the constitution of India and the theme of India’s Republic day 2024, “Viksit Bharat' and Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka”.
Students of Nursery did finger printing in the flag and coloured the picture of India Gate in the art file. They did sponge printing and pasted tri colour tulips on a drawing sheet. A free hand drawing and colouring competition was also held for them to grace the occasion. Children recited ‘Pyara jhanda’ rhyme with great enthusiasm.
The students of Prep enjoyed doing finger printing in a pinwheel. They also did sponge printing in dove and coloured a poster related to Republic Day.
Class I students made beautiful tricolour badges and flag using crayon shavings. They also promised to be the ideal citizens of the country by imbibing the values of truthfulness, equality and respect for oneself and others.
Students of Class II made tri-colour wall hangings to decorate their classrooms in spirit of the 75th Republic Day. They were enlightened about the sacrifices the great freedom fighters made with the help of a Role play competition- Bharat Hamari Shaan in which they came dressed up as their favourite freedom fighters and spoke 2-3 lines about the same.
To conclude it was an enriching experience for our learners and they went home with an ignited flame of patriotism in their hearts.

TELL A TALE (ENGLISH STORY TELLING COMPETITION), 24 JANUARY, 2024

Stories spark the imagination and curiosity of a child and takes them in a world beyond their expectations. In order to develop social, communication and presentation skills in our tiny tots, a story telling competition was organized for the students of Prep on January 24, 2024. The little narrators came well prepared along with the appropriate props and narrated various stories confidently in their own way and told the moral value as well. The best narrators were judged on the basis of content, expressions, props and overall presentation. It was a fun filled day listening to the young orators.

MY CREATION- DRAWING AND COLOURING COMPETITION, 24 JANUARY, 2024

We at Delhi Public School firmly believe that art is one of the best means to inculcate self- expression, imagination and creativity in children. Keeping the same in mind a free hand ‘Drawing and Colouring Competition’ named- My Creation was organised for the tiny tots of Nursery. Children actively participated in the Competition exhibiting their artistic skills. This enhanced self- expression as well as further developing, fine motor skills and grip control. TELL A TALE (ENGLISH STORY TELLING COMPETITION), 24 JANUARY, 2024

Stories always give wings to our imagination and take us to places beyond the boundaries of the physical world. Keeping this in mind, a storytelling competition was conducted for class 1 on 24 January 2024. The young vibrant story tellers came forth with wonderful tales. Some of them were dressed up as characters and presented their story with the use of facial expressions and voice modulation. Children also used a variety of props and puppets to make their stories interesting and expressive. They were judged on the parameters like expression, content, and overall presentation.

WASTE WOW (BEST OUT OF WASTE GIFT WRAPPING COMPETITION, 22 DECEMBER, 2023

To educate the children about reusing and recycling products , a gift wrapping competition was conducted in class 2 on Friday, 22nd December 2023.The competition encouraged the students to reuse the waste products and bring their creativity in wrapping the gifts. It also helped them to understand the concept of 3R’s( Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).The children displayed immense prowess in wrapping empty cardboard boxes using waste materials like old newspapers , ribbons, delicate laces and other used wrapping materials. The competition encouraged students to unleash their aesthetic skills. The children enjoyed it to the hilt and were judged on parameters like design, creativity, neatness and overall presentation.

The excitement and joy of receiving a gift is often piqued by the way it is wrapped. An exquisitely wrapped gift is like a treasure waiting to be discovered. Keeping this in mind, a Best Out of Waste Gift Wrapping Competition was organized for class 1 on 22nd December 2023. PAPER BAG DECORATION COMPETITION, 22 DECEMBER, 2023

The melodious jingle of bells and the impeccably adorable decorations at every corner indicate the onset of the Christmas season. It brings a special message of hope, joy, sharing and merriment. Keeping the spirits alive, a Paper Bag Decoration Competition was organized for the tiny tots of Nursery on 22.12.23. Christmas cheer grew manifold as students showcased their talent by decorating paper bag with the materials like stars, sequins, stickers, cotton and other decorative items. It was a sight to see the budding artists decorating a bag with their imagination and creativity. The event successfully accomplished its goal of spreading awareness and instilling a sense of responsibility towards saving environment by using paper bags. The bags were adjudged on the basis of various materials used , the skill of designing and neatness. All the students enjoyed adorning their bags and their performance was admirable.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION, 22 DECEMBER, 2023

Its jingle bells all the way!
Delhi Public School, Sec 122 Noida celebrated Christmas with great fervour and enthusiasm on 22 December, 2023. The entire school vibrated with the echoes of Christmas carols. The Pre Primary wing wore a festive look as it was decorated with bells, stockings, streamers and stars. An exquisitely decorated Christmas tree with reindeers was set up at the school reception. Several activities such as decorating handmade paper bags, making Christmas Tree, Stockings, Christmas Cards and many more fun activities were organized for the students of Nursery to class II. The children were told about the birth of Lord Jesus and the legend of Santa Claus. The spirit of giving and sharing was inculcated among the tiny tots as they exchanged exquisitely packed gifts with each other and played games. A Special Assembly was presented by students of class I and II on Tuesday, 19 December 2023. Children enacted the story of birth of Jesus Christ, thus spreading the message of love, joy and peace. The Principal Mrs. Vibha Singh, emphasized on the real meaning of Christmas which lies not merely in celebration but more so in giving, sharing, forgiving and loving. The celebration ended on a happy note as children pledged to share their joy and happiness with others. Carols and cheers highlighted the true spirit of Christmas bringing in pleasant surprises and joyful moments to cherish always!

NO BAG DAY, 14 DECEMBER, 2023

For holistic development of children ‘No Bag Day’ was organized on 15, December, 2023 for class II which focussed on providing students an opportunity to explore beyond the books. This helped in developing creativity, social and physical skills. Children enjoyed various games like fire in the mountain, dog in the bone, tunnel game ,passing the ball hula hooping and also did Zumba on their favourite songs.The fun filled activities focused on developing fine motor skills of the students. The children explored and learnt with their peers in a fun way. All the children created beautiful memories and went back home with a smile.

NO BAG DAY, 08 DECEMBER, 2023

Experience is the purest source of knowledge. Keeping this in mind, No Bag Day was observed for students of class 1 on 8th December 2023. A school picnic in the playground was organised for the little ones where various outdoor activities, games and nature exploration was planned to promote physical fitness and overall well being. It received a hearty welcome from the students and the excitement was overwhelming. Children came dressed up in sportswear. The activities held focussed on developing listening, speaking, gross and fine motor skills. This was a good exposure to the informal learning opportunities through participation in fun games like fire in the mountain , hurdle races, dog and the bone, passing the ball, Simon says, and so on. They also shared meals with their peers. The display of boundless enthusiasm was proof enough that the students had a memorable time.

NO BAG DAY, 06 DECEMBER, 2023

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”
In order to provide fun with studies and a holistic approach to education , No bag day was organised for the students of Prep on December 6, 2023. The objective behind organising No bag day was to provide an opportunity to the young adventurers to explore and learn with their pals in a fun way. The students came all geared up for the picnic which was planned for them in the school ground with an array of joyful activities. The students enjoyed a lot outside the class playing games along with their teachers. They enjoyed activities like passing the parcel, fire in the mountain, dog and the bone, hurdle race, zigzag running, hula hoop and various more activities and made memories with their friends. It was an amazing day full of fun and frolic which the students will cherish. They went home with the long lasting memories of their adventurous day.

NO BAG DAY, 23 NOVEMBER, 2023

It was a sight to see the little ones excited throughout the day. All students created beautiful memories and went back home with a smile.

DEEPAWALI CELEBRATION, 10 NOVEMBER, 2023

“Let us move from untruth to truth and from darkness to light.”
To rekindle the light and warmth in this festive season a virtual Deepawali celebration was conducted on November 10, 2023 in Delhi Public School, 122 Noida for the students of Prep class. The teachers showed the PPT and discussed the importance of celebrating this joyous festival .The students were told that the festival signifies the victory of light over darkness , knowledge over ignorance and good over evil. Beside sensitising students about the ill effects of crackers, the teachers also shared the guidelines of eco – friendly ways of celebrating Deepawali, emphasizing on the concept of Harit Deepawali.
The tiny tots of Nursery recited the rhyme ‘Diwali aayi Diwali aayi’ throughout the week. They painted diyas and made colourful Bandhanwar. Children also filled bright colours in the Rangoli activity sheet.
The students of Prep painted diyas and made bright wall hanging along with Deepawali card for their family members. They also enjoyed making Lanterns as Deepawali Activity and had virtual dance with their friends.
Children of class 1 expressed their creativity by drawing and colouring Deepawali scene in their art file. Keeping up with the tradition of decorating home during Diwali, children made beautiful & artistic bandhanwar from waste material like bangles, colourful paper, beads, sequins, pista shells, etc. Children thoroughly enjoyed this activity and adorned their house with these brightly coloured door hangings.
The school decorated beautifully with colourful lanterns, diyas and torans enhanced the spirit of festivity. It was a fun filled day which was enjoyed by all wholeheartedly.

MINDSPORTCOMPETITION (GK QUIZ), 15 SEPTEMBER, 2023

To encourage children to expand their knowledge about their diverse country, a GK Quiz was conducted in class II. An audition round was conducted on Monday, 11th September followed by the finale round on Friday, 15th September 2023. The 8 teams gave a tough competition to each other, and the excitement of the students was palpable as they motivated their teams with applause and cheer. The competition served as an effective tool for fun and learning as the children learnt a great deal about the incredible diversity and heritage of India.

‘Goodness triumphs and evil comes to an end’. Happy Dussehra!
On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra , the story of Ramayan was narrated children of class II by the class teachers.They were told how Dussehra teaches us the victory of good over evil. They were also made familiar with Durga Puja celebrations and its importance. The students made mask of Goddess Durga and decorated them with colours and sparkles. The students also wrote about one bad habit which they would like to change .They burnt the same in the fabricated fire in front of Ravan effigy in the school .They learnt the value of victory of good over evil through these activities

HEAR ME OUT (FANCY DRESS AND PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION)

In order to boost the confidence of students and to give them a platform to come and express few lines on their favorite character from Ramayan and to know more about them a Fancy dress and public speaking competition was organized for the students of Prep. The students came decked up in the attire of their favourite character along with the props and spoke a few lines about them. It was a mesmerizing performance by the students wherein they displayed their enthusiasm and confidence while speaking which won the heart of spectators. Top four were judged on the basis of introduction, expression, content and presentation and were awarded Certificate of Excellence.

To encourage the students to read and love poetry, Hasya Kaviras competition was conducted for grade II students on 20th October, 2023.Keeping with the theme of the competition, students recited humorous poems full of wit and wisdom with proper voice modulation, pronunciation and expressions. RANG MANCH HUM BACHON KE SANG - (FANCY DRESS AND PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION)

A Public Speaking Competition was organized for students of Nursery wherein students were supposed to dress up as their favourite Ramayan character and speak a few lines on them. This not only blended learning with fun but also developed confidence in students by giving them an opportunity to speak in front of their own classmates. All the students enthusiastically participated in the competition and enjoyed being dressed up as Ram, Laxman, Sita, Ravan and other characters from Ramayan, embarking the significance of the festival Dussehra. It was a fun filled day and this competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents.

GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION

The joyous occasion of the birth anniversary of the great patriot and leader, Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated in the Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School with great patriotic fervour on 29 September, 2023. The aim of celebrating this National Festival was to impart the knowledge about sacrifice given by Gandhi Ji for the freedom of our country. The students were exposed to the life and struggle of Mahatma Gandhi Ji through effective PPT wherein the teachers discussed about Gandhiji’s teachings, beliefs and message of peace, truth and non-violence. The students also carried out a cleanliness drive under “ Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” in the school premises under the supervision of their teachers and pledged to keep their surroundings and class clean.
The little ones of Nursery made stick puppets of three monkeys and also pasted a picture of Gandhi ji in their art file.
The students of Prep and class I enjoyed making a Charkha with paper, wool and ice cream sticks under the guidance of their teachers.
To conclude it was an inspiring day wherein students got to know the teachings of Bapu and vowed to imbibe the qualities of simple living- high thinking in their lives.

BOOKMARK MAKING COMPETITION

“Creativity is just connecting the thoughts and spreading awareness”.
To inculcate the habit of regular reading and loving books a bookmark making competition was conducted in Class II on 27.923 wherein the students were asked to make a bookmark of any shape and size. Children came up with beautiful, themed bookmarks.This fun-filled activity unleashed their creativity on paper. The students worked enthusiastically and experimented with different shades of colours to flaunt their artistic imagination. They created and decorated the bookmarks using innovative ideas to make them look more interesting and to capture the reader’s imagination.

My Creation (Book Mark making Competition)

Book marks are a reader’s friends and allow them to keep a track of the page read and a quick access to the same. In order to develop the joy for reading in our young readers and to bring out the artistic talent in the budding artists, book mark making competition was conducted for the students of Prep on September 27, 2023.The students were thrilled to make a bookmark for themselves. The bookmark was provided to the students and they decorated the same by the decorative material. It was a fun filled activity wherein the students learnt to complete their task in given time and display their artistic talent. PAPER TEARING AND PASTING COMPETITION - BUTTERFLY

A Tearing and pasting competition was organized for students of class Nursery to improve hand strength and endurance in muscles. Students tore multicolor paper into bits and pieces and pasted them on their sheet. The sheet had a big butterfly picture on it and students had to paste these bits and pieces of paper on it. This activity helped in developing fine motor skills and creativity. All the students enthusiastically participated in the competition and wanted their sheet to look the best. Teachers also encouraged and appreciated their efforts.

Bookmarks help you keep track of your reading, keep your books in good condition, and nurture regular reading habits. Keeping this in mind, 'My Creation' (Bookmark Making Competition) was organized for class 1 students on 27th September 2023. TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

‘Teachers encourage minds to think, hands to create and hearts to love.’
Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Delhi Public School Sec 122, on September 4, 2023. The students were told the importance of teachers in the lives of students as they play a role of not just a Guru but a mentor who is a guiding light for his / her students. The teachers explained that this auspicious day is celebrated to commemorate the birth of second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a philosopher and a great teacher.
Children of Nursery made a beautiful card for their teacher with tearing and pasting. They pasted red coloured paper on the heart and gave it to their teachers to show their gratitude.
Prep students enjoyed colouring the poster of teacher and student and showed their love and gratitude towards their teachers.
Students of class 1 also made a card for their teachers.
Along with this children presented the talent show in which they spoke a few lines on teacher’s day and also recited rhymes for their teachers. Overall it was the fun filled day for all.

RAKHSHABANDHAN CELEBRATION

Rakhshabandhan was celebrated with great ardour and gaiety by the students of Pre Primary classes on August 30, 2023.The main objective behind celebrating this festival was to make students aware of the auspicious bond of love between both brother and sister protecting, helping and loving each other. The significance and importance of the festival was discussed with PPT in all the classes.
The little ones of Nursery coloured the cut out of bunny face rakhi and decorated it with googly eyes. They brought different types of sweets in their lunch box to celebrate the festival of joy with their peers. Children tied rakhi on each other’s wrist with the help of their teacher. Towards the end they recited “rakhi rhyme” and relished sweets.
Prep students enjoyed making a cupcake rakhi for their friends with whom they share a brotherly bond and enjoyed tying the same on each other’s hands. They were happy to share the sweets with their peers which they brought from home as without sweets the celebration is incomplete.
A well planned assembly was conducted by the students of class 1 on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. The assembly commenced with a morning prayer and a beautiful song to celebrate the special bond between brother and sister. They also presented a small skit and recited a rhyme to further convey the essence of the festival.
To conclude it was a memorable and fun filled day for the students and they went home happily with beautiful rakhi tied on their wrist.

Raksha means safety and bandhan means bond. Rakshabandhan is an important Hindu festival dedicated to brother and sister. On the occasion of this auspicious day , students of class II celebrated Rakshabandhan in school by making Rakhi from the raw material given to them along with their own choice of decorative materials.They enjoyed the day by watching a video on the importance of this auspicious day. The day was celebrated on 29.8.23. Children exchanged sweets and enjoyed the day wholeheartedly with zeal and enthusiasm .

WATER EXPERIMENTS AND ACTIVITIES

It has been rightly said that we all believe in what we see! Experiments are a great way to understand learning by doing themselves and the scientific process behind the same. Keeping the very thought in mind and to conclude the theme of the month, various water experiments and activities were conducted for the students of Prep wherein they enjoyed hands on experiments and activities related to water. Students were made aware of various properties of water like water is colourless, tasteless, odourless and shapeless and has different forms. The students thoroughly enjoyed pouring water in different containers, mixing different colours to understand that water when mixed with other colour takes its colour.
They also enjoyed making a boat and sailing the same in water understanding the concept of aerodynamic force generated in the direction to the flow.
Our young explorers got great opportunity to observe, explore and think while actively involved in the activity of ‘Floaters and Sinkers’. It came as surprise to our young learners that there were few things which do not sink but float in water. They gained useful information that lighter objects float whereas heavy objects sink in water. Through this activity the concept of ‘Material Around Us’ was also reinforced.

INDEPENDENCE WEEK CELEBRATION

The 77th Independence week was celebrated with a great patriotic spirit and zeal by the students of class 1. With the motive to infuse the feeling of patriotism among its students, the school organised a plethora of activities spanning over a week from 08.08.23 to 14.08.23.
Teachers discussed the Indian Independence movement and the theme of the Independence day 2023, “Nation First, Always First”. Students also watched a PPT on the significance of this festival. The corridors were beautifully decorated by the peacock and lotus wall hangings made by children. Children enjoyed making a tricolour badge with fingerpainting and drew the tricolour flag in their art files. A quiz competition was also conducted for students with the objective to share and enhance knowledge about our freedom fighters, our national symbols and freedom movement. A ‘Little Chef competition was conducted for students on 14th August 2023. Students exhibited their culinary skills by making lip-smacking tricolour sandwiches. They brought our traditional sweet ‘halwa’ and shared it with their peers to celebrate the occasion. This week was full of patriotism and enthusiasm that kindled a sense of love for our country within the children.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

To mark the 77th Independence Day of India a week-long activities were planned for the students of class 2. The activities were about the story of India’s Independence, role of freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives and National symbols of India and their significance. Fun activities of Tri-colour finger printing in a kite and cap making activity was also carried on. They were also told about the significance of three colours of India’s flag-.saffron, white and green. The activities culminated on 14th August 2023 with an Intra- class competition ‘Master Chef – Tri-Colour Dish making’. Students came up with very innovative and creative dishes. Thus. children gained information about the importance of Independence Day. It was a pleasure to watch little hands doing hands-on activities.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION [NURSERY, PREP AND CLASS I]

Celebrate the freedom and rejoice in the spirit of Independent India.
To instil the patriotic feeling and commitment towards our country, 77th Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and fervour. Keeping this year’s theme ‘Nation first always first’ in mind, various activities were spanned over the week for the students of Nursery to Class 1. The story of Independence was narrated by the teachers to explain the relevance of this day in all the classes. Various PPTs were shown to make the students aware of this important day. The students enjoyed interacting with the help of visual aids and actively participated in various drawing and colouring activities.
The tiny tots of Nursery made a tri colour butterfly badge by doing ear bud printing in it, which they wore with great happiness back home. They also did ear bud printing in kite with orange, white and green colour and a Patriotic Poetry Recitation Competition was organized to inculcate the spirit of patriotism. They recited various rhymes to feel connected to their nation and motherland.
Little ones of Prep enjoyed colouring the National symbols. They felt pride in making a tricolour sun cap for themselves. On the culmination day the students came dressed up in traditional attire and participated in “Nanhe Deshbhakt” – A poetry Competition. They also relished tricolour food and halwa with their peers. The students went home with a feeling of pride of being an Indian wearing their sun caps.
Students of class 1 enjoyed making a tricolour badge with finger painting and drew the tricolour flag in their art files. A quiz competition was also conducted for students with the objective to share and enhance knowledge about our freedom fighters, our national symbols and freedom movement. To keep the spirit of Independence Day and the glory of the Tricolour alive, a tricolour sandwich-making competition was organized for the students of classes 1 on 14th August 2023. The air was filled with enthusiasm for the kids when they donned their chef caps to exhibit their culinary skills. The students made healthy and nutritious sandwiches with breads, raw vegetables and sauces of different kinds. The competition was a great success and gave a platform to students to exhibit their culinary talents. The judgment was done on the basis of creativity and overall presentation.

To make the learning more joyful and to arouse the feeling of love and patriotism for the motherland among our tiny tots Nanhe Deshbhakt Hindi Patriotic Recitation Competition was organized for the students of Prep class. The aim was to enhance the oratory skills and develop love for the Hindi language. The students participated excitedly and recited rhymes with full confidence, rhythm and expressions. They carried various props along with them to enhance the beauty of their rhyme. It was a gratifying experience not only for the participants but also for the viewers. Many students brought flashcards and props related to their rhyme which made their presentation more persuasive. The objective behind such competitions is to increase self-confidence and to motivate children for public speaking. The little ones participated enthusiastically in the competition. It was a pleasure to watch the tiny tots recite various rhymes like ‘Naha Munna Rahi hu’, ‘Mera Pyara Jhanda’ and many others. Best performance was judged on the basis of ability to speak confidently, creativity in props and presentation.

JOG YOUR BRAIN

To nurture the inquisitive minds of students, a quiz competition was conducted for class 1 students on 11th August 2023. The theme for the quiz was Independence Day. The major objective of this was to share and enhance knowledge about our freedom fighters, our national symbols and the Indian independence movement. The quiz was conducted in a very interactive way and the teams participated with great enthusiasm. The students displayed ecstatic spirit and enjoyed the quiz to the fullest. The judgment was done on the basis of promptness and general knowledge.

HEALTHY FOOD WEEK

“Take care of your body it is the only place to live in”
To create awareness about healthy eating habits and to ensure that children choose healthy food from the early stage, Healthy Food Week was organised for the students of Prep from 24th July – 28th July. A plethora of various creative activities were planned for the students. They enjoyed making a chef cap for themselves and a beautiful collage on the basis of their understanding of healthy food and unhealthy food items. This helped to further sensitize the importance of eating healthy food for a healthy living.
The students relished various dairy products and had a dairy party with their peers. They were told the importance and benefits of having milk and milk products.
On the culmination of Healthy food Week the little chefs made a healthy and scrumptious sandwich. Learning about different types of food through meaningful poems and songs was fun for the students. At the end of the week students realised and understood the importance of having Healthy and. balanced meals.

MANGO FIESTA (NURSERY)

Delhi Public School Sec 122 Noida, believes in experiential learning and embedding learning into activities.
To cherish the most relished mango season and acknowledge the ‘King of Fruits’, Mango Fiesta, was organized that celebrated the vibrant world of mangoes on Monday, 10 July 2023.
The children were engaged in various activities like:
Mango Tasting: Description of the taste, texture, and aroma of each variety of mango was discussed and the children relished mangoes brought by them in the fruit tiffin. The activity aimed at developing their sensory perception skills.
Mango Art: A creative mango-related activity was conducted in the class in which the children did Thumb Printing in Mango thus enhancing their Fine Motor skills.
Mango Mart: A small fun activity involving the selling and purchasing of mangoes was enacted which enlightened the children about different varieties of Mangoes that come in the summer season. Also, a wide range of mango products, including mango juice, aam panna, Mango lassi, Mango pickle and many more were displayed in the mart.
Mango-themed Games: A fun game, ‘Feed the Mango’ related to the mouthwatering fruit was played where children enjoyed throwing the balls through a Mango cut out.
Environmental Awareness:The Mango Fiesta included discussions about the importance of trees and the environment. By sowing a mango tree sapling, children were encouraged to take care of plants and trees in their surroundings and water them regularly.
Mango Dress-up: Children came dressed up in clothes with shades of yellow, orange and green. The day was filled with fun activities, delicious treats, and educational experiences centered around this delectable fruit. Besides it being a fun activity, it was also a medium of language development for the children.

SEASON

“The storms will come, and the cold will come, the warmth shall come, and the blossom of spring shall also come.
To make the students aware about the different seasons of the year, an array of activities were conducted for the whole week as integrated project, in class 2 from 24th to 28th July,2023. Projects are intended to increase student motivation by engaging students in real life situations with authentic purpose, and they often require students to address a problem using creative and critical thinking. The experience of hands-on activity is an important step in the learning process of a child. The purpose of the Integrated Project was to enable the learners to connect knowledge to life. The students indulged in picture composition, scenery using 2 D shapes, collage making, daily weather login, speaking activity, listening activity, researching and presenting information, across different disciplines on the theme ‘Season”. The project helped the students to acquire practical experience, thereby developing an approach to hands on learning, deep content knowledge and also enhanced critical thinking and holistic learning

In order to develop interest and love for art and craft and infuse skills like stability, concentration and eye hand coordination, paper tearing and pasting competition was conducted for the students of Prep on 21 July 2023.They brought old newspaper and magazine pages from their home and were found engrossed in decorating their piece of work. The objective behind such competitions is to enhance student’s imagination and develop fine motor skills. The little ones participated earnestly in the competition. BLAZE OF COLOURS (COLOURING COMPETITION)

Colouring is a very important activity to develop the pincer grip and fine motor skills of children. At the same time it develops their creativity and love for art. Keeping this in mind, Delhi Public School, sec 122 Noida, organized a colouring competition – Blaze of colours for the tiny tots of Nursery on 21 July 2023. The kids showed a lot of interest and patience and put in their best effort to colour the picture within the boundary, using strokes in one direction and neatly filling the entire picture without leaving any white spaces. The artistically amazing sheets coloured by them was a treat to the eyes and was appreciated by every one.

FUN WITH SHAPES COMPETITION

“Every child is an artist” said Pablo Picasso. Keeping this in mind, a drawing competition was conducted for class I students on 21 July 2023. The students showcased their creativity by creating animals with 2D shapes. The competition was very exciting and the little hands at work had put in their best efforts. POET PARADIGM-ENGLISH RECITATION COMPETITION

Recitation activities help students to build confidence as they learn to speak more accurately and persuasively about any piece of writing. Keeping this in mind, English Recitation Competition was organized for the students of class II on 21 July 2023.The children recited poems with immense enthusiasm and confidence supported by colourful and vibrant props. Each child chose their own topic and recited for a duration of one minute. It was heartening to see the young children listening intently and motivating each other with applause and cheer. Students captivated the audience with their voice modulation, articulation, and dramatic appropriateness. Students were adjudged on the parameters of expression, props, content and intonation.

COLOUR WEEK (NURSERY)

‘Colour is a power that directly influences the soul and brings positivity amongst all’
The colour week was organized for the little ones of Nursery from 14 July to 24 July 2023 with great fervour and enthusiasm. Each day of the week was celebrated as a specific colour day. The students wore clothes and accessories of the assigned colour and they also carried a fruit of the same colour in their lunch boxes.
To reinforce the colour and fruit of the day, various art and craft activities were conducted. The week long activities acquainted the students with the concept of different colours in the environment and importance of consumption of fruits. Colour exploration stations were setup for each colour and different objects, fruits and vegetables related to the same were shown.
Also, songs and rhymes related to colours were sung and recited throughout the week. Children were also engaged in different colour related games which further enhanced their observation skills. At the end of the week, students went for a nature walk to observe different colours in their environment.

FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATION

“Education is the foundation upon which we build our future”
It is indeed a moment of great pride and also an occasion to commemorate the significant day of our institute. A year ago, Delhi Public School Sec 122, Noida commenced their journey and is reaching pinnacle to be beyond the ordinary. The school has been untiring in its efforts to ensure holistic growth of its students and it has made a remarkable contribution to the society and the nation. It is a day when a thought, a philosophy or a vision is transformed into concrete reality. To mark this day, the students and teachers of Delhi Public School Sector 122, Noida celebrated its 1st first Foundation Day on July 5 2023, with great fervour and zeal. The whole school was decorated beautifully with colourful streamers, balloons and craft prepared by students.
The tiny tots of Nursery were very excited to be a part of this extravagant event. They made and decorated birthday card for the school with glitters, sequins and were very happy to celebrate the first year of their school
The little ones of Prep made a cupcake on the occasion of school’s 1st birthday and then decorated the corridor with their creative work. The little hands also felt proud to be the part of school’s decoration by their cupcakes.
Students of grade 1 expressed their happiness by making paper cut-out of their school's building. They were provided with green and white paper cut-outs and were guided to assemble and make the building of their prestigious school. They also wrote a birthday wish for their school on it.
Students of class II celebrated the growth and success of the school by writing birthday wishes for it. They also made origami tulip bouquet and decorated their classrooms.
To commemorate this joyful event, a school watermarked DOMS pencil along with sweets were given as a token of love to the students as they are the foundational building block of writing in school. The students went home with a memory to cherish for their lifelong as they witnessed the 1st birthday of their school.

VAN MAHOTSAV CELEBRATION

“He who plants a tree, plants hope!”
Van Mahotsav, the annual tree planting festival was celebrated with full vigour and enthusiasm on July 7 2023, in the premises of Delhi Public School Sec 122, Noida. The event began with the discussion about trees and their importance in one’s life by the class teachers. They sensitized the students about the importance of trees and their contribution towards Mother Earth. The aim behind celebrating this festival was to inculcate social accountability in students to protect the forests and practice eco-friendly ways to conserve the environment. The school was buzzing with activities planned for students across all levels.
The herb garden was set up for the students of Nursery, Prep and grade I, wherein they sprinkled the seeds of various herbs like coriander, mint, spinach and fenugreek seeds. The students were excited to sow the seeds by their own tiny hands as this made them feel responsible towards taking a step in the contribution of making the Earth Go Green.
The students of Grade II were told about the importance of planting trees and in order to give a practical knowledge they were taken to the recently opened portion of school ground where the gardener helped them with the filling of the paper cups with soil and also planted seeds in it. They were also told about the process of seed germination and are asked to keep a record of the same for a week.
To conclude it was a fun filled day and an enriching experience for students.

“When we care for the Earth we care for ourselves” Keeping this noble thought in mind Colouring Competition was organized for the students of Prep Class on the fourth day of Earth Week Celebration in Delhi Public School, Noida 122. To mark the importance of World Earth Day a week long activities were planned for the Prep class. To bring out the creativity and the artistic talents of the students on the fourth day of Earth Week a Colouring Competition was organized in which students participated with great zeal. The aim was to develop love for art and enhancing their pincer grip and fine motor skills. The students happily coloured the picture of Mother Earth and express their love ,concern and respect for the nature and pledged to adopt the ways to protect the beauty of the nature. Top three were judged on the basis of choice of colours, neatness, creativity and presentation and awarded Certificate of Excellence.

“A CLEAN EARTH IS A HAPPY EARTH”

Earth Day is celebrated to honour our earth and its resources and create awareness of the need to protect them. Earth is our home – the planet we live in. It provides us with everything necessary for life, but its resources are limited.
Teachers discussed the importance of Earth Day and sensitized the children to save our planet earth by keeping it clean and green , by using recycled items in our daily life, saving electricity and water, planting more trees, reducing pollution of air, land and water and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful.
The tiny tots of Nursery enthusiastically participated in various activities to commemorate our benevolent Mother Earth.
• Children were shown a power point presentation and various songs and videos which highlighted the motto “We must love our Mother Earth as we would love ourselves.”
• Students also did ear bud printing and colouring in the art book to encourage them to conserve our precious Earth.
Prep students devotedly participated in various creative activities throughout the week to commemorate the Earth Week.
• Children made happy and sad earth paper cut out with sponge dabbing.
• To teach students about the environment, pollution, conservation and the different ways we can take care of our planet earth day, sorting activity was conducted. Children made a collage related to it depicting why Earth is happy or sad by pasting appropriate pictures.
• The children made carry bags out of old newspaper & to make it more attractive they decorated it with stars and sequins.
• Earth Day Colouring Competition was organized for the little ones of Prep. The competition was enjoyed by all the students and they were able to showcase their imagination, choice of colours and creativity. It was a pleasure to watch these tiny tots work with ease.
• To make children aware of environmental issues related to Earth various videos and PPT were shown related to save earth, save water, save electricity and to sensitize children on saving our planet Earth assembly was also conducted on ‘Save Earth’ .
In grade I each day of the week was dedicated towards making children learn about a specific aspect of environmental conservation.
• Students were explained about the significance of keeping our surroundings clean such that they could contribute in maintaining clean Earth. All students contributed by cleaning their classroom by picking up litter such as shreds of paper or shredded pencil remains.
• They were also introduced to the concept of saving energy by switching off all electrical fitments for 5 minutes.
• Students were shown a video about saving electricity on 20 April. They also coloured a picture of Earth in their ASM.
• On the penultimate day students made a crown using a chart paper strip. They were provided a picture of Earth and they colored it blue and green. They pasted it on crown and wrote a slogan ‘I love Earth’.Students enjoyed the activity thoroughly and they were happy taking it back home.
The week ended on a happy note and children pledged to “Save Earth”.

COMMUNITY HELPERS, 09 March, 2023

To make children recognise and appreciate the dignity of community helpers that there are many people around us who help us in our daily life and they make our life easy and comfortable. We should respect them. To understand their work asked the different helpers to visit the class room and explained the importance of their work.( nany, electrician, sweeper etc.) Students visited the school clinic to understand how the nurses help during any kind of health emergency.
INTER-SECTION COMPETITION: I am a helper( Dress Up Activity)
Students dressed up as a community helper and in-acted their character so nicely. They dressed up as different helpers like doctors, teachers etc. They performed the activity mesmerizingly.
PUBLIC SPEAKING ACTIVITY: What I want to be when I grow up.
In this activity students wanted to say their dream of becoming a community worker and want to do something good for the people of the country.
Dress Up and speaking Activity: I am a helper. To make children recognise and appreciate the dignity of labour, a dress up and speaking competition on community helpers was organised for the little ones of Prep on Thursday.(16.2.23) Dress up activity builds confidence, enhances creativity and develops language skills.
ASSEMBLY BY PREP:
To culminate the topic students of prep presented a combined assembly. Students participated in song and it motivated the kids to provide an enjoyable experience for all children regardless of ability.Students dressed up and acted character of community helper(nurse, teacher, police man)and they danced on song – if everyone helps each other. Through this activity students were able to bring out their acting skills.They learned the importance of community helpers and their impact on their lives.

Holi, the festival of colours, joy and laughter was celebrated by grade 1 students on 6 March 2023. The whole amphitheatre was beautifully decorated with vibrant and colourful pichkaris, matkis and buntings. A special assembly was conducted on this event which was attended by all pre-primary students. All students were dressed up in colourful Indian attire. They were introduced to the significance of the festival and the story behind the celebration. A short video on the story of Prahalad and Holika Dahan was shown. The festival was celebrated in an eco-friendly manner. Children exchanged gujiyas and applied tilak with herbal colours on their peer’s foreheads. Children were made aware of not to waste water. They also enjoyed the blow painting activity done in class. There was laughter, joy and merry making in the air. It was a joyful celebration of Holi at school.

Holi Celebration,6 March, 2023

“Ring in the colours of Holi spreading peace and happiness everywhere”
The celebration of Holi is a celebration of the triumph of good over evil, a carnival of colours, joy and laughter. Holi was celebrated by the students of Nursery to class II with great gusto. The students came dressed up in vibrant attire. They were apprised about the significance and importance of the festival and the story behind the celebration. A short video on the story of Prahalad and Holika Dahan was shown in all classes. The festival was celebrated in an eco-friendly manner. Children exchanged gujiyas and applied tilak with herbal colours on their peer’s foreheads.
The tiny tots of Nursery presented a special Assembly wherein they explained the significance and relevance of celebrating the festival of colours. The performances included a short skit on the life of Prahlad , a devotee of Lord Vishnu showcasing the mythological origin of this festival, a scintillating dance performance and melodious songs which made the audience swayed delightfully. A beautiful and colourful card was also made by them by doing blow painting with the help of straw which they took as a Holi take away.
The little ones of Prep enjoyed blow painting with straw and water colours in their Articulate Art file. They also made a take away with hand print using water colours. The children of class 1 made beautiful card for their family members as a take away.
The students of Class 2 made a card by printing their hand impressions on it. Emphasizing the need for precaution and safety, the students were made aware of herbal colours made with natural flowers which are dried and ground to powder form. They were asked to play safe Holi by using natural colours instead of chemical colours.
To conclude there was joy, laughter and merrymaking in the air.

NANHE KAVI COMPETITION, 16 February, 2023

To make the learning more joyful and to spread the fragrance of poetry among our tiny tots Nanhe Kavi Hindi Rhyme Competition was organized for the students of Nursery class. The aim was to enhance the oratory skills and develop love for the Hindi language. The students participated excitedly and recited rhymes with full confidence, rhythm and expressions. They carried various props along with them to enhance the beauty of their rhyme. It was a gratifying experience not only for the participants but also for the viewers. Top three were judged on the basis of expression, voice modulation and overall presentation and awarded Certificate of Excellence.

I AM A HELPER!, 16 February, 2023

To make children recognise and appreciate the dignity of labour, a dress up and speaking competition on Community Helpers was organised for the little ones of Prep on Thursday, 16.2.23. Dress up activity builds confidence, enhances creativity and develops language skills
. Students enthusiastically portrayed characters such as doctor, teacher, plumber, astronaut, nurse, milkman, chef, solider etc while defining their special attributes. Wonderful expressions and attractive props made their performance all the more attractive. Children also visited in all sections of Nursery to showcase their talent. It was an interactive activity that helped in building social, emotional and language skills and proved to be great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talent.

LITTLE HANDS AT WORK COMPETITION, 16 February, 2023

“Every child is an artist” said Pablo Picasso. Keeping this in mind, a drawing competition was conducted for grade I students on 16th February 2023 with the theme “Spring Season”. BEAUTIFUL HANDS AT WORK! (ENGLISH HANDWRITING), 16 February, 2023

Beautiful writing is an art that helps to teach children muscles control and hand eye coordination. In order to develop fine motor skills, confidence and most importantly their own style of writing, ‘’English Handwriting Competition” was organized on 16th February, 2023. RUSH HOUR CHALLENGE (SPORTS COMPETITION), 10 February, 2023

We at DPS aim to re-energize the students and find recreation in the school by organizing various sports and cultural events. We aspire to make each sporting and cultural event a comprehensive and holistic approach to inculcate traits such as sportsmanship, team spirit, and bonding, with the ultimate goal of promoting physical well-being of the students. Keeping this in mind, a sports competition was organized for class II. Students were divided in to groups of four. Skipping, hoola hoop, sack race, hurdle jump were a few sports in the competition. We are glad that our students proved that Never Giving up Team with a fighting spirit ignited within themselves. This attitude has paved way to the beginning of the success story.

INTER-DISCIPLINARY PROJECT-‘PLANTS AROUND US’

The ability to look at plants around you, to study them and to think critically about how they grow, reproduce and adapt to their environments over time are very important scientific skills. Many of the greatest scientists throughout history have come upon their theories through simple observation of the plants around them.
The Objectives for this project-
* Identifying plants and their uses.
* Increase their observational skills of natural objects.
* Describe how a tree grows throughout the years.
* Study the life cycle of plants.
The students of class 2 enjoyed doing the Integrated project ‘Plants around us’ by sequencing the journey of a seed to become a fruit plant, making a poster on save trees and the things we get from plants. Students were also taken for a nature walk wherein they were shown different types of plants in the school garden. Students also planted their own tomato plants in small cups and displayed them in their respective classes.

‘PACK A GIFT’ COMPETITION, 25 December, 2022

The excitement and joy of receiving a gift is often piqued by the way it is wrapped. The decoration is just as important as the gift itself. The Gift Wrapping Competition for Class 2 was held on 16th December, 2022 in the Primary Wing. Students brought a small box and wrapping paper for the competition. Delicate laces, ribbons and other decorative materials were artistically used to decorate the boxes. Students exhibited creativity and showcased innovative ideas of gift wrapping. The competition encouraged students to unleash their aesthetic skills.

FREE HAND DRAWING AND COLOURING COMPETITION, 25 January, 2023

In order to instil the feeling of patriotism and to bring out their creativity and artistic talent among the tiny tots, a free hand drawing and colouring competition was conducted for the students of Nursery on 25.01.2023. The theme for the same was Republic Day. The aim of the competition was to make the students learn to trust their ideas and engage their independence and self – expression. The little ones participated earnestly in the competition. It was a pleasure to watch our little artists draw and colour their masterpiece. REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION AND KITE MAKING ACTIVITY, 23 To 25 January, 2023

The 26th of January, our Republic Day, is a red-letter day as the constitution of free India came into effect. We at DPS celebrated the 74th Republic Day with great immense patriotic fervour and zeal. A plethora of activities were organised to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among the students.
Our young students of Class 2 showcased their enthusiasm and zeal by reminiscing the bravery and patriotism of our great freedom fighters. Students enjoyed doing Kite craft activity and drawing a Republic day scene in their Art files. Students were also shown a presentation on the life of a famous freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose. The students were also sensitised about the National Bravery Awards which are given to kids from all over India for their meritorious acts of bravery. True to the theme, teachers enlightened students about the fundamental duties and the importance of abiding by the law.
Teachers inspired the students with their motivational words and told all the students to abide by the constitution of their motherland and fulfill all their duties as responsible citizens.

WREATH MAKING COMPETITION, 16 December, 2022

With the Christmas spirit in the air, a wreath-making competition was organized for students of grade I on 16 December 2022. Children made beautiful wreaths from waste material like pistachio shells, beads, paper tissue, ribbons, etc. They were excited and flaunted their creativity with unique designs and ideas. The 74th Republic Day was celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm by the students of grade 1 on 24th January, 2023. The school campus was beautifully decorated with kites, rangoli and buntings. Students made beautiful tricolour wall hangings using coloured sheets. Teachers discussed the constitution of India and the theme of India’s Republic day 2023, “Jan Bhagidari”. They watched a PPT on the significance of this national festival. Students also promised to be ideal citizens of the country by imbibing in themselves the values of truthfulness, equality and respect for oneself and others.

FANCY DRESS COMPETITION (FREEDOM FIGHTERS), 25 January, 2023

To enhance creativity, imagination and build confidence, a Fancy Dress Competition was conducted for the students of Grade I on 25th January 2023. The children were dressed smartly and presented themselves confidently mouthing famous dialogues and slogans of the freedom fighters they depicted. The judgment was done on the basis of expression, content, costume and overall presentation. They all looked vibrant in their colorful and different costumes and played their parts confidently.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION, 25 January, 2023

“A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.”
The students of Nursery class took pride in glorifying and celebrating the 74th Republic Day in the school along with their teachers. The celebration began a week before where the students were engaged in various activities like finger printing in the National Flag, free hand drawing and colouring, pasting the pictures of honourable President and Prime Minister. The learners were explained about the day through PPTs and videos. The students were also told that the Republic Day spread the message of equality, brotherhood, unity and integrity. The teachers also discussed about the beating retreat ceremony in brief. The students and teachers didn’t leave any stone unturned in making this auspicious day a memorable one.

REPUBLIC DAY, 25 January, 2023

“Freedom of thought, strength in our convictions and pride in our heritage.”
With this spirit of nationalism, the little ones of class Prep celebrated the 74th Republic Day with great patriotic fervour on 25 January, 2023. The various activities were conducted throughout the week in which all the students participated with great zeal.
The students did ear bud printing with tri- colour on dove and made suncap as a take away. They were also given a colouring sheet related to Republic Day.
A power point presentation and related videos were shown to the students to reiterate the significance and importance of this day. Teachers also apprised them about 'Beating the Retreat' ceremony as it marks the official conclusion of the National Festival. The students sang and danced to the tunes of patriotic songs. The feeling of patriotism is palpable!

ATULY BHAARAT, 25 January, 2023

Communication is the backbone of any society and public speaking is one of the most important forms of communication. Learning to speak in public expands students’ creative horizon, confidence and presentation skills. To enhance students’ overall communication skills, a Public Speaking intra section competition was held for the little ones of Prep on the topic Atuly Bhaarat Students spoke a few lines on food, costume, language, famous leader and monument of one of the Indian states of their choice. The little ones expressed themselves with full confidence showcasing their oratory skills and memory. The competition turned out to be a highly enriching and a stimulating learning experience for all the participants.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

The students of grade 1 celebrated the festival of Christmas with great enthusiasm during the third week of December. The premise, decorated beautifully with colourful bells, wreaths and Christmas tree enhanced the spirit of festivity. The little ones enjoyed the craft activity where they made a Christmas tree using paper of different shapes and sizes. They decorated their craft using sequins and crayons. They also watched a video about the significance of this festival and sang carols.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION , 20 December 2022

It’s jingle bells all the way!
The little ones of Prep celebrated Christmas with great fervour and enthusiasm on 20 December, 2022. The entire school vibrated with the echoes of Christmas carols. The junior wing wore a festive look with bells, streamers and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Several activities such as making and decorating Christmas Tree (Best out of waste), rocking Santa Cards and making of hand print out Wreath were organized for the students. The children were told about the birth of Lord Jesus and the legend of Santa Claus. The spirit of giving and sharing was inculcated among the tiny tots. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of the children especially when they performed on the first in – house production, ‘A Child’s Wish’, in the school premises.

CHRISTMAS CARD MAKING ACTIVITY, 19 December, 2022

Christmas cards have that special touch that let people know just how much they mean to you. They're also a perfect way for children to practice their art skills and get them feeling the festive spirit.
The card making activity was planned to enhance the creativity and aesthetic sense of the children. It was an exciting individual activity for the children. Creative and beautiful cards were prepared by the students of class II. Innovative ideas were used by the teachers in guiding the children.
Children made creative and colourful cards using cotton. The students wrote beautiful Christmas wishes on the cards prepared by them. Children also played a quiz based on Santa claus.

BEST OUT OF WASTE COMPETITION (Making and decoration of Christmas Tree) , 16 December 2022

Little hands and imaginative minds came together in a creative burst of energy during the “Best out of waste” competition organized for the little ones of Prep. The competition focused on bringing an understanding among the children about preserving the environment by reusing and recycling waste material. Children made and decorated a Christmas Tree using tetra pack, used plastic bottles, toilet roll, decoration material from old rakhis, newspaper etc The creativity displayed by the children was mesmerizing. The competition was enjoyed by all the students and they were able to showcase their imagination and creativity.

JINGLE ON THE WAY, 16 December 2022

To mark the festive occasion of Christmas and boost the creative and inventive skills in the students a Paper Bag Decoration Competition was conducted for the students of Nursery on 16.12.22.The students made beautiful paper bags and decorated the same using the materials brought by them. It was a pleasure watching little hands making a bag out of their imagination and creativity. The fun filled activity also inspired the little ones to contribute to the Mother Nature by using paper bags and saying no to plastic bags.The bags were judged based on design, materials used, skill and presentation. The students participated in this competition with full zeal which was praiseworthy.

SPELL BEE, 22 November, 2022

Language plays an important role in the all round development of a student. Appropriate words with correct spelling convey the right message. “Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters.” The Spell Bee Competition was conducted to give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways, enrich their vocabulary, learn concepts and develop the use of correct English. Elimination round for the Spell Bee Competition was conducted on 16th November, 2022 for Class III. The final Inter- Class Spell Bee Competition for class III was organized on 22nd November, 2022. There were two participants in each team. The rounds for the competition were as follows: ? Round I: Power Spell. ? Round II: Word Buster. ? Round III: Joggle Your Brain. ? Round IV: How many! ? Round V: Spell the Gender.
The objective of the competition was to enhance the spelling and literary skills of children by encouraging them to explore the nuances of English language, expand their vocabulary and improve their communication and comprehension skills. The children enjoyed the challenging questions and played enthusiastically.It not only involves rote learning of words. Rather, preparation for a spell bee is a comprehensive learning process that allows children to learn the definition, pronunciation, and roots of the word. Students participated earnestly in the competition. Their efforts and initiative were appreciated by one and all.

RANGOLI COMPETITION, 18 November 2022

Rangoli competition was held in Delhi Public School Sector -122, Noida for the tiny tots of class Nursery. A rangoli sheet was given to children and they had to color it with their imagination and creativity. All the students were very enthusiastic to participate in the competition. They wanted their sheet to look the best and were very keen to color it beautifully. Children used vibrant strokes of colors to make their rangoli sheet appealing and exquisite. All in all, it was day filled with lots of excitement and happiness.

SHOW AND TELL COMPETITION, 18 November 2022

Speaking about something you love always makes you love it even more! Keeping this thought in mind and encouraging the little ones to speak in public, the Show and tell competition was organised for the tiny tots of Delhi Public School, 122 on 18.11.2022.The students were asked to bring any object they want to speak about and describe the same. The little ones expressed themselves with full confidence showcasing their oratory skills and memory. It was a delight to see the confidence of the children. The competition was organised to strengthen their verbal skills and foster public speaking, speaking competencies. It was an interactive activity that helped in building social, emotional and language skills for the children.

Mukhaute-Mask Making Competition, 18 November 2022

To enhance the imagination and creativity of the young minds, Mukhaute- Mask making competition was organized for the tiny tots of Prep. The students earnestly participated in the competition and made beautiful animal masks which were a treat to the eyes.. To conclude it was a fun filled day which was enjoyed by the little ones. Best masks were judged on the basis of neatness, creativity and artistic excellence.

Hear me out (We should be kind towards animals because…), 18 November 2022

Animals of all kinds enrich our lives. They can be our friends or inspire our imagination. By caring for pets and domesticated animals and respecting animals in the wild, you can show your kindness to any animal. Students of class II were sensitized about why should be kind towards animals. The children from class II participated in Speaking Competition. The enthusiasm and excitement shown by each one of them was commendable. The children presented their lines using relevant props and some of them even enacted the animals they were speaking about. The children performed with lots of vigour and energy. These young children showed their competitive spirit by their ingenuity thus making the competition a grand success.

To encourage the students to read and love poetry, Hasya Kavita competition was conducted for grade I students on 18th November, 2022. Children recited Hindi poems full of humor and fun. The funny expressions and actions of students were praiseworthy. It was an entertaining competition that brought smiles to our faces. Children’s Day Celebration Nursery to Class II, 14 November 2022

“Every child is a different kind of flower and all together makes this world a beautiful garden.”
Childhood is a blessing and the most fun filled phase. In the fond memory of the birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the students of Nursery to Class II celebrated Children’s Day on 14th November 2022. A special assembly was organised to give a brief insight about Chacha Nehru’s life. The teachers took this unique opportunity to make the students aware of celebrating Bal Diwas to raise awareness about the education and welfare of children. The celebrations began with the Morning Prayer followed by a plethora of art and craft activities as follows: Nursery - The day was celebrated with great happiness where children were shown a power point presentation about Chacha Nehru and how he used to love children a lot. They were also sensitized about the importance of children’s education and their role in nation building. The children coloured Chacha Nehru’s favourite flower rose and pasted his picture in the art file. They were also given a butterfly pencil topper as a token of love by their respective teachers.
Prep -
Students coloured the picture of Chacha Nehru and pasted a Red Rose made by paper. They also played fun filled games like Simon says and Freeze Dance which was planned by their teachers. The students participated in all the activities and enjoyed the day to its hilt. They also enjoyed a sumptuous feast with their peer group in the class party. The celebration focussed on children and their enjoyment which made the students overwhelmed and special.

Class I –
The children were explained the importance and significance of Children's Day through PPT. Various activities like Musical Chair game, Photo Frame Making were also done. The children were gifted Sketch pens with toppers by their respective teachers.

Class II -
The students were given a Children’s Day special worksheet to colour. The teachers made the day special for their children by giving them some valuable gifts as a token of love s like pencil with an attractive bird topper.

PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION, 19 October 2022

To improve students’ overall communication skills, confidence, and expression of ideas and also to develop their leadership skills, a Public Speaking intra section competition was held for the little ones of Prep on the occasion of Diwali.
