ANIMAL WELFARE DAY ACTIVITY

On the 4th of October 2024, DPS Sector 122 Noida organized a creative event to mark Animal Welfare Day, encouraging students to raise awareness about animal conservation through art and craft. The activity involved students from classes 3 to 5, each contributing in unique ways.
Class III students participated in "Paws for a Cause," where they crafted masks or stick puppets of animals and paraded through the school to spread messages of saving animals. Class IV took part in "Crafting Creatures," creating 3D animal origami, with IV-A showcasing wild animals, IV-B highlighting birds, and IV-C featuring aquatic animals. Class V students engaged in a poster-making competition “Art for a Cause”, with slogans advocating animal protection.
The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by the participants made the event a memorable and impactful experience, reinforcing the values of kindness and conservation among the future generation.

CONTINENTAL QUEST 2024

Students of our school participated in an Inter School Science Quiz, “Continental Quest” organized by EAST POINT SCHOOL, Vasundhara ,Delhi . Our school got the FIRST POSITION.
The event aimed to foster a spirit of competition and camaraderie among students from Twelve schools while enhancing their knowledge and interest . Schools from across the region participated, making it a well-attended and vibrant affair. The quiz consisted of multiple rounds, each designed to test different aspects of Knowledge.
The students showcased their knowledge with full zeal and enthusiasm. Overall it was a good learning experience for the students, making them learn values like team spirit, unity, confidence, trust, etc.

Students of our school participated in an Inter School Music competition, “SurSangam” organized by EAST POINT SCHOOL, Vasundhara, New Delhi. Our school got the FIRST POSITION. Patriotic Group Song Competition

"Where words fail, music speaks." – Hans Christian Andersen
Delhi Public School, Sector 122, Noida, organized an Inter-Class Hindi Patriotic Group Song Competition on 8 August 2024 for students of Classes 3 to 5. The event, titled ‘Swaranjali’, aimed to instil a sense of patriotism and encourage spirited competition among the students.
The competition highlighted the students' musical skills and passion for their country, with each performance radiating pride and unity. The high standard of the competition made it a tough task for the judges to select the top performers.
Classes III-B, IV-A, and V-C achieved top honours, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm. They had the privilege of performing their patriotic songs in traditional costumes during the Independence Day celebration too, which added a memorable touch to the festivities.
Overall, the event was a tremendous success, demonstrating how music can powerfully express national pride and inspire others.

Spell Bee Competition

“Words are the keys to thought and communication.”
Delhi Public School, Sector 122, Noida, organized a ‘Spell Bee’ English spelling competition on 3 August 2024, for students of Grade III. Out of the 8 participating teams, consisting of 2 members each, the top 3 teams emerged as winners. The competition enhanced the vocabulary of the students. The students were tested on a wide range of challenging words displaying accuracy, confidence, and teamwork. Overall, the event was a success, inspiring students to further sharpen their language abilities.

Master the Minute

“Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Students of Class IV participated in ‘Just a Minute’ English competition on 30 July, 2024. The aim was to motivate and encourage the students to express their thoughts freely with emphasis being laid on fluency, confidence, voice modulation and expression. The students were given a topic on the spot to speak for a minute exhibiting creativity in thought and expression. The participants impressed one and all with their fluency and range of vocabulary. Best seven speakers were adjudged as winners making the competition a success.

Eclectic Expression

"The art of communication is the language of leadership." – James Humes
Delhi Public School, Sector 122, Noida, organized an "Eclectic Expression" English story narration on a proverb on 30 July 2024 for students of Grade V. The event aimed to inspire students to express their thoughts with confidence while focusing on fluency, voice modulation, and expression. The topics were provided to participants in advance, allowing them to prepare and deliver well-structured speeches. The participants impressed everyone with their eloquence and vocabulary. The competition was intense, making it difficult for the judges to select the top 7 performers. Overall, the event was a great success, showcasing the students' oratory skills.

STORYTELLING SESSION OF HT PACE LITFEST

The Hindustan Times organized a captivating storytelling session aimed at celebrating the art of storytelling and its profound impact on communities. Held at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, Phase-I on 24th July, 2024 TThe event brought together a diverse audience eager to dive into narratives that resonate across cultures and generations.
Our two students participated in the same session.

EVENT OVERVIEW:
The event commenced with a warm welcome by School Management Team, setting the tone for the event filled with values of story narration. The stage was graced by storyteller Mrs. Prasad, shared her unique narrative that ranged from folklore to personal experiences. A small skit was also performed by the school students which gave us the shades of different kind of book like adventure, humor, fiction, non-fiction and mystery. The session was not just an event but a celebration of the human spirit through narrative. It reinforced the power of stories to bridge cultures, inspire change, and foster empathy among individuals.

Pragyan School Greater Noida organised on event of Inter school Cultural Competition named "Rhythms o tradition ( folk dance), In which our school DPS SEC 122, Noida was Invited to participate.There were many categories like dance, music, Art, Nukkad Natak, Poem recitation etc. This Event was held on 10th July 2024. On 16th May 2024, Delhi Public School, Sector 122 hosted ठहाके – a Hindi Hasya Kavita Competition for students of Class V to foster love for poetry among students. Sixteen young poets showcased their brilliance and expertise, captivating the audience with their humorous poems and confident recitations. On 14th May 2024, DPS Sector 122 Noida hosted ‘विज्ञापन दर्पण,’ an intra-class Hindi Advertisement Making Competition for students of Class IV. Five shortlisted students from each section after auditions demonstrated their creativity through engaging jingles competing for the finals. The competition offered students a chance to improve their speaking skills and learn about the importance of advertisements in raising public awareness.

‘Get inspired’- English handwriting competition was organized on 6th September,2023 for Class IV students. Handwriting is an essential skill for students. It is an incredibly important exercise for students to encourage them to develop fine motor skills and confidence. It is a reflection of one’s personality and is cultivated with regular practice and patience. General knowledge helps to keep us connected and up to date with every part of the world. Apart from that, it aids in our ability to have a positive social impact. Keeping in mind the importance of General knowledge ,Quizophile, a classwise G.K Quiz was organised for class III at DPS, Sector 122, Noida on 14 September 2023. The aim of the competition was to test the learner’s knowledge about our country ‘India’ and the current affairs. The competition gave a platform to students who have upgraded their knowledge about various categories of General Knowledge- be it be sports, science and technology, current affairs, or even entertainment and showbiz can articulate eloquently. General knowledge opens gateways to our thinking and takes it to a level from where the whole world seems to be a better place. It is an unpredictable world and we all need to stay aware and vigilant Students equipped with the tool of General Knowledge always find it easy to socialize and break the ice. Quizzes are interactive platforms where students not only participate but gain knowledge and seek opportunities to excel. It enhances innovative learning among students.

Delhi Public School, Sector 122, Noida, held debate competition’ War of Words on 18th August ’2023, for students of Grade V. The main aim was to motivate and encourage the students to express their thoughts freely with emphasis being laid on fluency, confidence, voice modulation and expression. The students were given the topic on ‘Solar Energy should replace all other forms of energy’ they had to speak for or against the motion on the same for 2 minutes. This provided a platform to the students to exhibit their prowess in spoken English. The participants impressed one and all with their fluency and range of vocabulary. The competition was stiff and choosing the top 6 was tough job for the judges. Overall, the competition was a success.

SOCIAL SCIENCE WEEK

Delhi Public School, Sec-122 Noida has organized Social Science Week, offering an insight into the impact of the social sciences in our lives. A plethora of class wise activities were organized from 15th August to 18th August, 2023.
On 15th August, Poster making competition was organized for class VI and Mock Elections were conducted for classes VII and VIII. On 16th August, students of class VI aced the Quiz competition based on India’s Freedom Struggle whereas, class VII participated in a class Activity – History come Alive. Also, class VIII debated on the topic “Age no bar: Voting is everyone’s right” as a part of the class activity. On 17th August, students of class VI enjoyed Activity: “Beads, jewellery and seals factory”, simultaneously, class VII participated in The Taste of India competition whereas, Class VIII participated in Waste to resource competition.

‘SWARANJALI’, 10 August, 2023

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” – Plato
Patriotic songs fill us with the joy that comes with the celebration of this ancient and sacred land. They also bring out the responsibilities that we have towards the countries as their children or citizens. Keeping in mind the spirit of Independence Day, an interclass music competition,’Swaranjali' was organized for Classes III to V, in the school premises. The participating teams were Bandish, Sarang, Hindol, Antara, Shruti, Aashawari , Sanchari, Bhairavi and Vibhas. The songs reminded us of our golden past, our rich heritage, and the supreme sacrifices made by our ancestors. The audience was mesmerized by the soulful renditions which filled them with patriotic fervour. The winning teams were Sarang, Aashawari and Vibhas represented by III B, IV C and V A. The winning teams will again perform on Independence Day. The programme concluded on a good note.

ELOQUENT EXPRESSION

“Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Delhi Public School, Sector 122, Noida , held an extempore competition’ Eloquent Expression’ on 13th July’2023, for students of Grade IV. The main aim was to motivate and encourage the students to express their thoughts freely with emphasis being laid on fluency, confidence, voice modulation and expression. The students were given a topic on the spot and they had to speak on the same for a minute and a half. The wide –ranging topics provided a platform to the students to exhibit their prowess in spoken English. The participants impressed one and all with their fluency and range of vocabulary. The competition was stiff and choosing the top 6 was tough job for the judges. Overall, the competition was a success.

SPELL BEE COMPETITION

“Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters.”
The Spell Bee Competition was conducted to give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways, enrich their vocabulary, learn concepts and develop the use of correct English. Audition round for the Spell Bee Competition was conducted on 11 th July 2023, for Class III. The final Inter- Class Spell Bee Competition for class III was organized on 13 th July, 2023. There were two participants in each team. There were six teams. The rounds for the competition were as follows:

FOUNDATION DAY ACTIVITIES, 3 JULY 2023

Ist fruitful Foundation Day of DPS NOIDA SECTOR 122 was celebrated on July 5 ,2023 with a great zeal. Plethora of activities were conducted with various themes. The students showed their creativity while engrossing in the various tasks given to them. ‘Whimsical wishes’ were given on the cards by our youngest nursery students. Prep students came up with ‘Crafty Confections’ by decorating a paper muffin with the message showing their love for the school. Founder’s Day Gratitude was shown with beautiful bouquet on which class students wrote adjectives to express their bonding with the school. Book Marker’, ‘Bird-inspired art’ were engaging activities for third and fourth class students. ’Gift wrapping’ and ‘card making’ activities gave the students the feeling of celebrating school’s birthday. Appealing and decorative Art Pieces with the beautiful expressions written on them by students of classes seventh and eight enlightened the classes.
Our student’s involvement in all these activities were enough to show their proud of being ‘DEPSITE’.

‘FITNESS CIRCUIT CHALLENGE’

Ethics in sport requires four key virtues: fairness, integrity, responsibility, and respect. A fitness circuit challenge competition was held for Class 5 students to improve muscular endurance, increase muscle growth, and offer a full-body workout. The competition was held in two phases- 'The Trials', held in the second week of May during scheduled P.E. classes in which all the students participated with full zeal and fervor by doing a standing broad jump as per their capability followed by jumping over the hurdles. Next, the students balanced a cone on their heads while moving in a zig-zag manner to reach the finishing line. The best 18 students (9 boys & 9 girls) were selected for the final round which was conducted on 15 May 2023.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs but not every man’s greed” -Mahatma Gandhi.

Earth is the only blue planet which has life. To protect its natural beauty and to maintain a clean and healthy environment we need to know the ways in which the conditions of the Earth can be improved and preserved. A small step in this direction was taken by DPS Sector 122, Noida by organizing various events, from 19thApril to 21st April for the students of Class II-VIII.
On 19th April short videos were shown to students focussing onthe naturalresources of theEarth and how their misuse has led to its destruction. The videos conveyed to the children, the importance of Earth Day Celebrations and its genesis. This was followed bydiscussions and brainstorming on the ways to conserve the planetand what a student’s role should be in this regard.
On 20th April a Special Assembly was held on the theme ‘Earth Day’ by the students of Class VII and VIII. In the assembly all aspects of pollution - water, soil, air- were shown through a dance drama. It was followed by a street play showcasing the ill effects of using plastic. A poem and a song by the choir also centred around the theme of Earth Day. On 21st April Classes 2-5 had the following competitions-
Class II– ‘Eco minions’ a competition to show and talk about an eco-friendly product was conducted.
Class III– ‘Feeder for Feathers’ a competition to make bird feeders from eco-friendly items was held.
Class IV – ‘Recycup’ a competition to design a product from non-biodegradable materials was held in which students participated enthusiastically.
Class V – ‘Eco empowerment’ was a competition of designing T-shirts with a meaningful slogan to showcase the need to be eco-friendly.
Classes VI-VIII participatedin slogan writing followed by a Nature Walk in the school compound. They were happy to spread their messages through slogans and paintings.
Students identified more than 30 ornamental plants alongwith their scientificnames and were really overjoyed to know the abundant variety of fauna in the school while on their Nature walk, with the chirping of birds in the background.
These celebrations made every student realize that themother Earth is God’s best gift to man.It must be preserved,and students must contribute their bit to keep the Earth clean and green, for themselves and the future generations as well.

To improve muscular endurance, muscle growth, along with full-body workout, a *'RUSH HOUR CHALLENGE* competition was held for Class 3 students. The competition was held in two phases- 'The Trials', which was held on the 20th and 22nd of February in which all the students participated with full zeal. Participation was compulsory for The Trials', and proper explanations and demonstrations were given before the first round. ‘PLANK HOLDING COMPETITION’ - SPORTS COMPETITION

To improve muscular endurance, muscle growth, and a full-body workout, the ‘PLANK HOLDING COMPETITION’ was held for Class 4 students.
The competition was held in two phases. First was 'The Trials', which was held on the 16th and 20th of January 2023, in which all the students participated with full zeal. Participation in the first phase was compulsory for everyone. Proper explanations and demonstrations were given before the first round.

KARAAMAATEE VIGYAAPAN - HINDI AD-MAD COMPETITION

“Creativity without strategy is called art, creativity with strategy is advertising”
Advertising is the art of persuasion where there can be a lot of great technicians. AD-MAD Competition is an ‘Advertisement Making Competition’ to bring out the individual talent of the students participating in it. DPS Sector 122 Noida organized ‘Karaamaatee Vigyaapan’an Intra-class Ad-Mad Competition in Hindi Language on Friday, 27th January 2023.
A total of fifteen students, participated in the final round of the competition with complete brilliance and expertise. They brought their self-made products and showcased the creativity in marketing the same with creative storyline, skit and jingles. The students were assessed on the basis of self-made product, expressions, creativity, fluency/choice of words, time limit and overall presentation. Children got an opportunity to brush-up their speech delivery and understand the importance of Advertisement in spreading awareness to masses. The competition came to an end with the announcement of the winners.

‘FITNESS CIRCUIT CHALLENGE’ - SPORTS COMPETITION

To improve muscular endurance, muscle growth, and a full-body workout, ‘FITNESS CIRCUIT CHALLENGE' competition was held for Class 5 students.
The competition was held in two phases. Firstly 'The Trials' was held on the 18th and 19th of January 2023 in which all the students participated with enthusiasm and passion. They performed standing broad jump as per their capabilities, followed by jumping over the hurdles. Next, the students balanced a cone on their heads, while moving in a zig-zig manner to reach the finishing line. Participation was compulsory for 'The Trials', and proper explanations and demonstrations were given before the first round.
The best 12 students (6 boys & 6 girls) were selected for the final round which was conducted on 20 December 2022.

“BHARAT MATA KI JAI” (POEM RECITATION IN HINDI), 25 January 2023

“Poetry is simply the most beautiful, impressive, and widely effective mode of saying things.”
Beauty is the realm of poetry; the students of Class 2 enthusiastically participated in the competition as they got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The competition inspired the young poets to come forward and recite on stage. The students came up with different poems on the theme “Bharat mata ki jai’’ and recited them with great fondness and zeal for the country. They enjoyed the perfection of expression, thoughts, emotions, rhythm and music of words.
Students were judged on the parameters like confidence, voice modulation, memorization and overall presentation.
The young poets enthralled the audience with their articulation and memory skills while reciting poems. It was a splendid opportunity for them to gain confidence through stage exposure. Everyone was delighted after seeing their pleasing performances.
The participants and the feeling of patriotism filled the air with affection and respect for the motherland.

Delhi Public School, Sector 122 Noida celebrated 74th Republic Day as ‘Constitution Day’ with great patriotic fervor on 25th and 26th January, 2023 to affirm love, allegiance and respect for India. To mark the festival with gaiety, students of class 3 to 6 participated wholeheartedly in the bonanza of activities namely Card Making for soldiers, Patriotic Song Recitation and Tricolour Salad Decoration. They enjoyed a lot!

Poetry recitation is a mode of expression, for the students to develop their verbal skills and to boost their confidence. To spread the fragrance of poetry among the children of class IV, a recitation competition was held in Hindi on Tuesday, 27th December 2022 in DPS Sector 122 Noida. The theme of the competition was Humour (?????). A total of fifteen students, five from each section, participated in the final round of the competition. They brought the props related to the theme and recited with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The students were assessed on the basis of topic introduction, relevance to the theme, expressions, time limit and overall presentation. The magic of their words and innocent gestures left everybody spellbound. The efficacious recital came to an end with the announcement of the winners.

In an attempt to save the endangered animals and to spread awareness, to showcase how man can allow these animals to survive, improve the environment and stop poaching of these animals for fulfilment of his greed, a competition was organised for Class III based on the theme-- ‘Live And Let Live’ The competition was held in two phases. -the Audition Round was held on Tuesday,13December 2022 in which all students participated by enacting as an endangered animal who wishes to express concern about his reducing number and what man can do to save him. They used finger, face puppet or head gear while doing this enacting. The best five performances were shortlisted on Friday,16 December 2022.

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas”.
Christmas is the season of love, harmony and celebration. We celebrate the birth of the Christian religion messiah Jesus Christ. To usher in the festivities of Christmas, an array of activities were planned for the classes 3 to 6 namely Ornament making, Santa Mask making and Carol singing respectively. Children participated with immense enthusiasm and excitement.

ENGLISH EXTEMPORE COMPETITION ‘IMPROMPTU’, 14 December, 2022

An extempore speech is an impromptu speech wherein a candidate is required to make a speech on a topic given there and then. It is a technique for evaluating and judging a person's speaking ability, the flow of their thoughts, and the way they communicate their ideas. It encourages students to think quickly and creatively. Extempore is an excellent approach to practicing communication and time management skill. To encourage students to speak effortlessly, an extempore competition was organized for the students of class VI. Audition round was followed by the final round. Diverse topics were given for speech.

In an attempt to enhance the scientific temper and the spirit of enquiry of the young scientists and to put their scientific knowledge and skills to testing, ‘Eureka’-a Science competition was organized on Friday,18 November 2022 for Class VI. The students prepared their working models on various concepts viz Electricity and Circuits, Magnetism, Light, Shadows and Reflections. Each student participated with zeal with their innovative models explaining scientific concepts and nuances involved in making the model. The aim of the competition was to test the learner’s knowledge about our Country ‘India’ and the Current affairs. CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS AT DPS,SEC 122,NOIDA

Children’s day also known as “Bal Diwas ”was celebrated with fun and frolic at DPS, sec122,Noida on 14 th NOVRMBER,2022.. The function was presided over by Reverend Principal Ma’am Vibha Singh. The fun-filled extravaganza started with a puppet show followed by a song, skit and a dance by the teachers of DPS, sector 122.The students were thrilled to watch the teachers perform. The special assembly culminated by a message of heartfelt gratitude by the Head boy and Head girl of the school followed by Ma’am’s words of wisdom that values of honesty, sincerity and hard work should be inculcated in the students, To add more liveliness to the day, a “Talent Quest ‘ was organised for the students to showcase their talents by live performances.

From darkness to light that empowers us to commit ourselves to good deed, that which bring us closer to divinity; lights illuminate every corner of India during Deepawali and the scent of incense sticks hang in the air, mingled with the sounds of fire-crackers, joy, togetherness and hope.
The celebration of Deepawali 'The festival of lights' came alive at Delhi Public School, 122 Noida when the whole school wore a festive look with Diyas and lanterns adorning the corridors. The song brought out the essence of the festival -celebration of life and goodness. The students talked about the significance of the festival - how good always conquers the evil and also about why and how Deepawali is celebrated across India. Students were sensitized to the ill-effects of crackers. The students showcased the spirit of Deepawali through a mesmerising dance performance. The special assembly by the students of Grade IV set the ball rolling for the Deepawali celebrations to be followed in the school. Principal, Ms. Vibha Singh gave away the message of a clean, peaceful and a bright Deepawali.
The students of class III continued the Deepawali celebration with the candle decoration and class IV decorated their diyas with colourful glitter and sequins. Students of class V made Toran and students of class VI made Rangoli. They displayed their creativity and bonds of unity by making a wonderful rangoli together. The entire presentation filled the hearts of all students with the spirit of Deepawali and they enjoyed the celebrations wholeheartedly.

 

Report on Activities conducted in Independence week (8th-15th August 2022.)

Independence Day is a day of great pride for all Indians. With the spirit of patriotism in our hearts and undying love and respect for our motherland, let’s acknowledge our privilege of being born in a Free India and celebrate 75 years of Independence of our country. To help our children understand the significance of Independence Day, a week-long celebration - Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav will be held in the school from8th-15th August 2022. An array of activities were organised for classes 3 & 4 like Poster making - National symbols of India ,Freedom fighter with slogan , Tricolour badge making ,HIndi kavita vaachan , Poster making - Swachh bharat on the theme Proud to be an indian,Speech activity on the Topic: - What is freedom to me followed by HIndi kavita vaachan was organised for classes 5&6. The activities were thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
