INTER-DISCIPLINARY PROJECT-‘PLANTS AROUND US’

The ability to look at plants around you, to study them and to think critically about how they grow, reproduce and adapt to their environments over time are very important scientific skills. Many of the greatest scientists throughout history have come upon their theories through simple observation of the plants around them.
The Objectives for this project-
* Identifying plants and their uses.
* Increase their observational skills of natural objects.
* Describe how a tree grows throughout the years.
* Study the life cycle of plants.
The students of class 2 enjoyed doing the Integrated project ‘Plants around us’ by sequencing the journey of a seed to become a fruit plant, making a poster on save trees and the things we get from plants. Students were also taken for a nature walk wherein they were shown different types of plants in the school garden. Students also planted their own tomato plants in small cups and displayed them in their respective classes.

“Life is a math equation. In order to gain the most, you have to know how to convert the negatives into positives”.
Mathematic competitions play a vital role in motivating the children to excel in different areas of Maths. To explore their aptitude and reasoning ability, Class VI students of DPS 122 participated in TANGENTIA, an Inter-school competition conducted by DPS Sushant Lok- Gurgaon on 15th and 17th December 2022. Around 30 schools with children of class VI onwards participated in a vast array of competitions. All the students participated whole heartedly.

Total number of participating schools- 35 General knowledge is information that has been accumulated over time through various mediums and sources.It excludes specialized learning that can only be obtained with extensive training and information confined to a single medium. It is an essential component of crystallized intelligence and is strongly associated with general intelligence alongwith openness to experience.
Four students of our school got an enriching experience of participating in the interschool online event which was held on MS Teams over a period of three days.The events began on 22nd December with Mock Rounds in which practice of the rounds was provided.On 23rd December Group 1 participated and won the competition with flying colours.On 24th December Group II participated and were part of the best five participants out of the 35 schools who participated in these events.
Selection of the students was done based on a Prelimnary Round while the Final Rouds comprised of four rounds which were- Skillathon,Audio Visual,General Round and Rapid Fire Round.

NAMASTE DEUTSCHLAND

Delhi Public School, Gurgaon hosted Namaste Deutschland German language Festival, organized by the Goethe Institute. More than 60 schools and 1500 German learners participated in this event.
06 students participated in various workshops like Story Time with the Brothers Grimm, My country is your country, German Inventions.

TRIUMPH – 2022

Competitions play a major role in motivating students to perform, excel and offer a lot more reward than just the winning prize. It also offers a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyze and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. Keeping this in mind, the students of DPS Noida, Sector -122 participated in ‘TRIUMPH-2022’ an Inter-School Event held at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Knowledge Park V on 4th and 5th of November 2022. Around 12 schools participated in this event. Spontaneity and confidence were the hallmark of the competition. The students left everyone awe-struck as they presented their talent so immaculately and effortlessly. They were applauded for their superb performance done with great zeal and made the school proud by winning prizes.

UNSERE FEST - 2022 - Delhi Public School, Knowledge Park V hosted Unsere Fest – 2022, an inter-school German language Festival, organized by Delhi Public Society. The competition witnessed participation of schools across Delhi NCR. 25 schools participated in a vast array of activities.
Our students participated in Poem Recitation, Fashion Show and Collage Making Competition.
